Interface looks extremely intimidating on Premiere, I can admit that much. The beauty of it though, is it's a lot simpler to use than it actually looks, and once you know where everything is, you can absolutely run with it. And you're right, you need decent RAM if you are going to have Premiere run and render well. But I think that goes without saying....any good editing software requires good hardware capabilities.

I was scared of using it at first too. First Adobe product I had was Premiere 7.0, and I was like....wow, how am I ever going to get the hang of this? But like I said, time, practice, patience....now when I use it's like riding a bike.

Yes premiere is a tad challenging at first, but after some training and/or experience it is all good.

im still trying to learn the "green screen feature" effect. its not called that, but i call it that. its where ur in front of the solid color sheet and then get the eye dropped , to make out w/e background or video you want behind there. I've read the lesson in my book i dont know how many times, and it always turns out wrong.

i'll get it eventually.

Premiere used to have it called "Green Screen" where you adjust the threshold and cutoff. But since CS4 it was changed.

However, for the best green screening results, you need to use After Effects and apply an effect called "keylight." It works beyond perfection. 😉

yeah. i never thought of trying it in After Effects. I'm recently learning how to censor out peoples faces in AE. i was never trained to in my books, so it's a little complicated. I did it once in a video blurring out my nephew's nakedness, so i could upload the video to show friends him being silly.

i'm trying to do it with multiple faces now, in this video i shot in Vegas of the coca~cola bear, taking a photo with 3-4 women. the tracking setting, is working great until the woman overlap each other causing the point and mask to attach itself onto them. which gets aggravating.

i enjoy video editing a lot, i've always love film making, but i don't think i'll be able to handle the pressure doing it for a business. I'll freelance on video stuff.

Sounds like fun. There is so much you can do with After Effects it is insane. I'm still learning that program, but it's a powerful tool. Just did a tutorial recently on how to build a 3D Earth and Atmosphere from space. Came out really sweet. I'll have a pic of it soon.

Well I suppose that may be true, but I still couldn't get into using Avid. Maybe I'm being biased. lol

As for Lance, believe me when I tell you, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Audition, Encore...have all those programs and you'll have everything you need to put together a movie. It's used by enough professional's out there that you won't be missing out on anything. Sounds like a lot, and it takes time and patience to learn everything, but once you know them, there's nothing you really can't do.

Mac has Final Cut, Motion (which fails epically in comparison to After Effects) Livetype and Soundpro...which are all good too if you use a Mac, but again, I always preach about the "interface" and I'm a firm believer that nobody has the interface down better than Adobe.

Both AVID and FCP work seamlessly well with Photoshop and After Effects. That's not really and argument.
But Premiere has certainly upped its game the last couple of years.

hmph... one of my friends' getting married today to a s.o.b.

Go and tell her not to do it then.

oh she knows. her mom doesn't like him either. its not that he's a bad person. but i get a vibe that he's goign to be a controlling mama's boy.

Oh I know FCP works with Photoshop and After Effects. FCP is what we use at my school along with the other two programs. I wasn't disputing that they don't work together. My main point is, why use is Photoshop, After Effects, and the bring them into Final Cut which isn't an Adobe program? If you're going to have and use all these Adobe products, then in my opinion you might as well bring these things into Premiere which they are most compatible with....considering Premiere can do everything that Final Cut can do.

I've never understood why my school uses every Adobe software in the books, then makes us edit with Final Cut Pro. Premiere is so similar to Final Cut that if you know either one those two programs, you can edit on the other. The only thing I've always liked more about Premiere is some of the interface and the shortcuts you can take with Premiere that you can't take with FCP.

i caught the damn bokay at the wedding, and this ***** snatched it out of my arms. i have a photo of it in my arms, and u see this girl hand going under neithe them to get to it.

i'd upload the photo but i look retarded in it from flinching. she punched my danm boob...

I would have told her to give the damn thing back if you had it. lol

She must have been desperate.

she was engaged too!! i'm engaged too, but damn, i've only been engaged for a month and 10 days. LOL

i'm not posting the photo on here, but heres the link to the pictrue. I look horrible. but anyone would look like i do with 4 girls coming at you, and a one punching u in the boob... link

SUE THEM.

i dont know her name, i think she was either the grooms cousin or gf or someone on his side of the family.

i found out after we took te group photo with bride and groom that these were goign to be ina bridal magazine over here. and i hope to GOD they dont publish the ones of all of us standign with them, bcuz i decided to be funny in the photo, and throw up the metal hand \m/ and stick my tongue out. it would be hilarious if he did use it, but embarrassing

the photographer came up to me, since my friend(bride) told him thta i take my camera where ever i go(not true), and he put his lens on my camera. 😮

i took one photo (it turned out horrible), and gave it back to him, bcuz i told him if i didnt give it back to him right now, i was going to run off with it. he probably thinks im just some kid who likes taking photos and doesnt know much about my camera. he told me to 'play aroudn with my settings" and messw ithteh ISO, arpature, etc etc... and i just knodded my head like "you just think i'm some kid whos daddy bought her a camera, do you?" 🙄

he was being nice and all, but still. i know how to use my camera.

Of course you do.

i always like waking up in a empty house and everyone else went shopping without you. 😬
