Well, there was a time on TFN BEFORE I joined this place, that was pretty great too. Awesome days, silly and on going threads about bearded Jedi being good and bad Jedi being beardless (we assumed then that Mace COULD in fact be bad, the way he behaved in TPM), a classic Porkins thread that I will always treasure.
But it kinda fell apart when it became HUGE. KMC wasa great alternative that soon got all my internet love.
TFN was great. I always went there for news and updates. I didn't visit the forums as much, but definitely went there to read the headlines.
I found KMC actually by doing a google search on Supershadow. 😮 This was one of the first sites that popped up.
So I joined, and when I did so in 2004 this place was sooooo active it was amazing. Post were being made every minute, people were leaking info.
Some members were giving us access to their hyperspace accounts so we could watch Episode III webisodes....which was the equivalent of striking gold back then.
My god, great times. Since we don't have a dedicated ST section, I'm not sure this place will be as active as it once was, but the newer movies ought to keep the select few of us here for many years to come.
Well, I think forums are basically on the way out. People communicate more via things like Twitter (also losing popularity), Whats App, Pinterest - more tightly knit communities that communicate in closed off environments and quickly evolving, changing, coming and going. Forums are for old people, like us. 😉
Oh hey, no need to convince me. I prefer this way better. When I try to find stuff on twitter (I am on not ON Twitter but I look around there) it takes ages to find all the related tweets. Everyone names the same topic differently. It IS chaotic, take s more time to find something than to be enlightened.

On KMC I have my settings set to show 20 post per page...so this thread here shows up as 2826 pages for me.
I posted on the very first page 9 years ago....(few of us have that bragging right 😉 )and here we are today, 2826 pages later. Kind of neat to stop and think about.
That's one thing social media will never have over places like this.
