The Force Theory: Discussion Thread

Started by Ushgarak9 pages

Frankly, I find it hard to see statements that the Sith are 'going to' destroy the Balance as anything but perfectly clear. If you want to disagree- again, fine- but I cannot see the logic in it.

Sigh... ok, I am sorry if I came across as an ass in here, ok? I didn't mean to. I am just cast iron certain about it all and am having great difficulty seeing other interpretations.

Reading the start of the thread, I am aware that me saying

"The imbalance comes from one thing alone- the Sith have returned."

was badly put- as I said later, I'm saying that it was what they did that caused it, but obviously the way I put it there makes it seem I was saying them coming back did it alone, which is clearly not what I meant to say, seeing it is exactly what I have been trying to knock out everywhere else. So I am sorry for making myself unclear in that manner.

Thanks Ush!!!

Apology accepted.

JP won't care, (probably won't even be able to see my post), but I think I should apologise for being an @sshole earlier.
I'm sorry, and all that....I'm not very good with apologies....

Ok now that we are all chummy, lets go have a drink shall we? 🙂

However, JP, there was no call for some of the comments you made and the incredibly angry tone you took. So I hope you will tone those down in future.

WOW ; I have been out for 2 days and i had 8 pages to read !

Now why am I not surprised to see this?
I responded with a legitimate argument and was in no way shape or form angry. YOU read that into my posts. And it was YOU everyone else was complaining about as far as behavior in this thread not me. And don't tell me to take this to pm, as you opened it up for a public post with that last little comment you threw in there. I did absolutely nothing against board policy during the debate, while you on the other hand were rude and belittling to all of us.

So I believe that Qui-Gon discovering the boy and the existance of the Sith at almost the same time and on the same planet have more than a coincedence behind the two occurances..............perhaps the Force unveiled them to the Jedi purposely ; but what purpose ? - To bring balnce to itself.

I believe that the Sith had been lurking in the shadows waiting for the right opportunity to pounce. And in the meantime, as we see in TPM, (and who knows what was being done before that) forming and manipulating the members of the tech union, the separatists...etc. just to get the Jedi distracted .

So like that the Jedi have been fooled into pointing their finger at other, but the Sith , whom they believed that since for a millenia they hadnt encountered one , were extinct.

Therfore the need for the Prophecy ( and we know prophecies are like time bombs , which can lay idle for a very long time , but come into action with devastating or remarkable results)would mean that evil may not necessarily exist as the dark side created by the Sith but the prophecy comes into action against the Sith when its time to bring balance to the force. That means ONLY WHEN HAVE THE SITH MADE THEIR PRESENCE KNOWN TO THE JEDI. That bringing the balance would mean ridding the galaxy of the Dark side.

Having said that , the Force is the master of its self and Anakin is its measure to stabilise goodness throughout the galaxy.

well, the force is described by quigon as having a will. what we dont know is whether that will is a conscious will or rather like nature...where things just happen.

i think it is a conscious will, in that it guides one's destiny. rather than simply using the force, quigon and ben suggest that a jedi also 'listen'. most likely not listening for words, but a feeling of what is right. its stated plenty of times that the force guides (notice i didnt say 'dictates'😉 one's destiny.

so in ep2 when its declared that the jedi's ability to use the force has diminished...that means that the jedi are pretty much useless, since they can no longer 'listen'...so simply, they cannot challenge the sith by seeing past all the deception. all they can really do at that point is fight, but other than that, the force is not with them...or rather, the darkside 'clouds everything' and is a 'shroud', which would mean that the sith have managed to hide or silence the will of the force.

that is where the balance is 'destroyed' (in one sense of the word) in that the true balance is no more. i cant see how anyone can argue that there is balance at this point in the saga.

now, when vader turns and kills the jedi, he destroys hope of anyone bringing down the sith and restoring that balance. that is how i see that balance being 'destroyed'. its more of a finalization of the sith's rise to power.

or a mixture of both :

Conscious will being the good side
Natural being the dark side

oh dear 🤪

perhaps...

all i know is yoda declared that cave to be 'strong with the darkside' and 'a domain of evil' which hints that there is an actual darkside to the 'energy field'.

yeah ; Degobah was a planet full of life with trees, water, swamps and creatures.....and yet that cave was strong with the dark side....uhm

Well, this page suddenly grew whilst I was gone. If ever there was a thread that was strong with the dark side, it's this one.

A word of advice to the others... I may be no one to be telling you anything, but I am just trying to be useful (and don't tell me there's no try, Yoda)...

If you don't have something nice to say about another person, just don't say it. And if someone baits you, be the bigger person and avoid them. If you believe in your own dignity, it should answer to no one, so don't get involved in the dirt throwing. I'm not pointing at anyone in particular... I'm not even gonna bring out any new thoughts I might have on the topic (my older post was kinda out of it... I hadn't slept well that day.) Buuuut... Hey, let's just be civilized.

My interview

Hey, i was just browsing the internet and found this forum with a quote from an interview i did years ago. Jedi Priestess where did you find that? It was originally posted on MovieManiacs.com but i was under the impression that page was deleted. I'm pretty damned curious to say the least, but i was pleasantly surprised. And if you doubt it's really me, you may remember that interview also had some humour in it... i recall i mentioned getting a tattoo in an uncomfortable place. Take care,

Rasta
