What cosmologists call the "visible universe" or the "known universe" is a sphere of space surrounding our planet, and it streches out to a distance of fifteen thousand million light-years - that's about 90,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles. The earth is an insignificant ball of rock and metal that orbits an average yellow-dwarf star, which is itself located near the outer fringes of the Milky Way Galaxy, which contains about 200,000,000,000,000 other stars. Up to the 1950s, people used to believe that the Milky Way WAS the entire universe, until a famed astronomer called Edwin Hubble discovered that there are about 100,000,000,000 other entire GALAXIES in the visible universe. Therefore, the estimate for the number of stars in the known universe is something like 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. Up until only recently, nobody really knew what proportion of the stars have planets orbiting them, but since them hundreds of new planets orbiting other stars have been discovered, and it is likely that every star has its own solar system. If, on average, each star possesses a solar system of nine planets, then that means there are 90,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets in the known universe.
What also makes us think that people who claim to have close encounters with these beings are not genuine? We are talking about the average joe being abducted by these beings and being told many things. We discredit abductees toooo much.
Plus, the overwhelming evidence to suggest indications of unearthly presence in ancient civilizations is amazing. All you have to do is read up on the Sumerians and their contact with "feline" looking beings that happened to be about 7 ft tall.
There is a theory in quantum physics which basically states that there are a very large (if not infinite) number of separate universes in existence in what has been called "superspace" or the "metaverse.
A dimension does harbor life, or atleast energy. Of course, I will admit. There is no CONCRETE and DEFINITIVE proof to suggest that ETs exist.
FBI_AgentMulder> WHAT "overwhelming" evidence suggests unearthly precense in ancient civilisations?
Are all creatures from myth now aliens?
"There is a theory in quantum physics which basically states that there are a very large (if not infinite) number of separate universes in existence in what has been called "superspace" or the "metaverse."
Either you got quantum mechanics wrong, or you're referring to probable states, which is a quantum mechanical concept.
There aren't entire "Universes" being split off every time a choice has to be made. Where would the friggin' energy to create multiple Universes come from?
Even being very tentative in using Drake’s equation gives us somewhere around 400 civilisations in the Milkyway alone, advanced, and trying to communicate. But that doesn’t mean they are here.
So: Life on other planets? Very probable. Aliens here on Earth? Nope, no evidence exists. It’s just a modern religion.
ok heres my view on the matter. u know how we have our sun/star and since were just the right distance away from it theres life.? now picture another place out there with a sun/star and another planet just the right distance away from the sun.....and wammo...there you go!!!........you got yourself some life.
Aliens, of course there are Aliens out there.
You can not possibly think that we are the only living intelligent beings in the vastness of space. Plus we have only been sending signals into space since the early 50's.
So, if there is a form of life out there that is as intelligent but please lets hope they are `more intelligent` than us has only just picked up those earliest signals. I expect they are on their way to us now and have been anticipating what they will find when they get here?
Who knows they are most probaly here now and standing shoulder to shoulder with us. We just don't know beacuse if we did know!
I believe that life exists out there somewhere. Wether or not they are visiting us is another question all together. I think one of the most likely explainations for the bug eyed grey aliens is that they're us from the future.
By the way, sorry if this is mentioned somewhere before now...I didn't have the patience to read the whole thread.
Area 51 is just a cover up for the military testing they do there. There is and never was any aliens at area 51. I do believe in aliens though, i think maybe they have visited Earth a time or two. Many Astronauts have witnesse strange things, and even have footage of aircracfts moving at sppeds that humanity has not accomplished yet. In the footage the aircrafts move from side to side, up and down, then dissapear. The thing about area 51 is crap though, but did you know that the year after Area 51 was when the first computer was developed. Usa also had military equiptment that no other country could figure out Such as the stealth bomber. I think the testing of certain epquipment is what was going on at 51. However, i am an alien and i am going home next week. Anyone want to come?
It's me again! I did a little reading and I found out that the earliest reports were done by the Aztecs and the Mayas in Mexico hundreds of years ago and speaking of aliens in Mexico did anyone see CNN in the end of May? A pilot had locked on an unidentified flying object and he's been gone ever since!
