😄 Superman Critique v1.1 hasn't changed much from my initial Superman Critique v1.0. I haven't thought of enough to make Superman Critique v2.0

I don't think he'S the worst character ever....he just doesn't appeal to me very much.....and its not his powers...they are ok...he'S not even that strong and there can still be decent storylines....its ore that I don't like his always good attitude.

With out Superman, I don't think you would have you're heroes, that you like today.

This generation, of people just like the kool guy that could, kick ass. They don't like goodie, goodie. They want Wolverine slashing some ones head off, because that person looked at, him funny. They was bad ass Rugged beard, and Punisher. Even Batman changed. In the movie, Batman is Bad ass, going, I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you either 💃

Batman is a Pimp, Wolverine is the Bad ass that kills anyone, that gets in his way. Spiderman has issues and has jokes, to crack on people.

Ultimate Spiderman: Thugs said " where is you're costume" and Spiderman says " you're mom, is washing it for me" 💃

Superman is far from the worst. I bet if he goes, I am tired of this crap, and started saying kool lines, and telling people to kiss his ass, then burning them with heat vission 💃 alot of people would like him more.

I love all the comic book characters I named, above....well maybe not the punisher,, to much 💃

Punisher's the most realistic superhero in comics. Ever. If Supes did the stuff you mentioned, it would make him less boring. I still can't get past the "no mask" thing though. Smallville is the best version of Supes by far.

If Superman did the stuff mentioned he wouldn't be Superman anymore... i.e. in order to make Superman interesting his character must be changed.

Lol

I liked that part, about spiderman's suit though...

Ditto

Why do you think they did the big overhaul of him in 1986, and recriuted John Byrne to do him the Marvel way? X-men was out-selling him 5-to-1; he was so powerful he couldn't be interesting to anyone anymore. There's a parallel to Silver Surfer who relaunced in 1987 - you get him off the earth and give him cosmic adversaries worthy of his attention. You think Thor, with all the cosmic and mystic menaces he faces, would bother with some criminal mastermind with a grudge?( ie. Lex Luthor) He's got bigger fish to fry. That was the DC way for so long, make everyone combat an opposite. Prior to Doomsday, the only adversary Supes got to actually trade punches with on a regular basis was Darkseid. Not to mention the cheesy glasses/secret identity - I love it when Supreme Power sent up that aspect.
Some slow strides are being made with Superman( I've seen the uniform with no yellow, red drawes, and collar - good) but he has a long way to being cool.
Captain America was created in the same period - wouldn't change a thing with him.

Ditto. You should see the glasses gag done with the Superman-like guy in MK😖pidey 😆

I don't remember making this thread. But I do agree with myself.

I also agree that eleven inches is by FAR the most disturbing ass poster on this forum.

His name is 11inches, he has a picture of a 9 year old girl named Dakota Fanning as his avatar and his location is "in dakota".

WTF??

Some people on this board may not like Superman or agree with the way he has been written but they can't change the fact that Superman has stood the test of time. If he really was sh** and people didn't like his "to many powers" then he wouldn't be around. He's the iconic Superhero that Marvel has tried to copy many times. Sure DC made a few missteps with the character just like with any other character out there.

If you think Superman "sucks" that's fine because you're intitled to your opinion but your opinion doesn't make something a fact. Superman is far from being "the worst character EVER."

His problem is as you pointed out, his godlyness and his lack of rogue's gallery. There's plenty of cosmic villains that could easily be a threat to Supes, but the problem is he is the embodiment of traditional American values. Family, love, home, etc. He sticks around in Metropolis waiting for things to come to him. Needless to say, not much outside of Mettallo throwing a hissy fit or Luthor trying to create a global monopoly is going to happen..

But in a way, it's this depiction that shows how if people stick to thier family values, and compassionate conservatism. Then the threats that persist are just as weak as his rogue's gallery. His arch nemmesis is those damn coporate securalists under the guise of Lex Luthor, and even he never really "wins", just manages to piss off Superman and visce-versca. Both symbolize the endless struggle between good and evil.

And metallo is like those stupid punk rockers like Green Day who just want to ***** about something.. 💃

I don't think he's the worst character ever, but again: Iconic character doesn't equal good character. McDonalds is an icon, it's not gourmet.
🤨 Marvel's main character's are Superman clones? Can you tell me which ones?

Superman is an awesome charachter.
Precrisis was too overpowered, but postcrisis seems much more human. He's a brilliant charachter

He's not the worst, but he still sucks more than being punched in the nuts😆

Superman comics should be discontinued...i wouldnt wipe my ass with his comics.
give me one reason why Superman is an interesting character?
The guy is worthless....
if you read him there is something seriously wrong with you.

Well, Superman does have a rubbish disguise, he doesn't wear a mask so i wonder how nobody knows who he is, all he has is a fancy hair-do . 😑

Wonder why I was so angry when I wrote this?

Hmmmm....Captian Marvel isn't so bad though.

No he's not. His method of hiding his identity isn't as lame as Superman's. He was actually more popular than Supes until DC won him in a lawsuit and put him on the back burner.

I didn't say Marvel's main character's are Superman clones but I did say they've copied him......Gladiator is one that comes to mind 😉.

I agree

Super Man is too impractical, even for a super heroe. He's armed with so many powers it's just pointless. He's nearly invincible. He reminds me of that episode of South Park where they make up their own characters and say 'I want to have this power and that power etc.' In all honesty, it seems as if Super Man was made by a little kid who knows nothing of balance or the word 'practical'.
