Thanos vs....YOU

putting Hulk and DD together doesn't hinder the fight but only makes it more difficult for Thanos to mount a counterattack

that's why i hate prep time for someone like THanos

he Ig , HOTU etc who knows what might happend with prep time and he is already so strong.

giving him preptime is not wise.

That's why i have Thor and Bill on my "Ultimate Punchy Team"

Thanos has slaped Hulk with one hit out of his way.

you can't have Doomsday anyway....... it's heroes only

Lobo

I don't know ANYTHING about those characters. Any bios? Anyone more knowledgeable about them want to weigh in?

well with thanos with prep time people can just say

he does this , or makes that and shit.

Only within reason. I'm going to pull a PC Batman with Thanos where he pulls out an "anti-Thor ray" or anything. Certain characters have easily exploited weaknesses, and playing the Thanos role, I'm limiting myself to inventions that have been invented before. mutants, Superman, surfer and hulk have all had such inventions to take them down...several times.

FIGHT! FIGHT!! FIGHT!!! ....... PUNCH! PUNCH!! PUNCH!!!......... lol

ok, Thor has mental defences so i assume Beat Ray does as well...... i know Majestic has some and Manhunter is a powerful telepath...... Marvel is magical so he may be protected ( i don't know for sure) but he is pretty hard.......... Thanos is gonna get his c*nt punched in by my new team

I think MM is a great addition to the team - he's got the strength, durability, versatility and most importantly...psionic shielding to last the whole fight protecting his team. Unfortunately, you teamed him with too many redundant characters. Turning it into an entirely physical battle with Thanos with prep isn't going to work in their favor. He'll come in with the appropriate level of shielding (like the one that stood up to Champion and Galactus) and that would give him enough time to pick them off.

Not really - Thanos has too many longer range attacks that would take them out before they got close enough to do any real damage. Besides, DD is a villain.

Thor and Bill can both open portals to bi-pass any shields he keeps up.... and with two characters with Godblasts plus a hammering from Majestic and Marvel no shield would hold up too long

i know you may look at Thor and Bill as the same powers making them redundant but the fact that they have the same abilities is why i chose them....... their abilities are awesome and two is better than one, same reasoning with Marvel and Majestic...... though i think Majestic is more powerful and a lot more ruthless..... MM is basically the hardest character within the levels allowed with decent telepathy i could think of who wasn't a mutant

plus most of my team is fast moving and very difficult to "pick off"

ok, same team Thor, Bill MM, Mr Majestic and Marvel (DC)

Thor takes point and spins his hammer blocking any attack from Thanos everyone else stands behind him
Bill stands second place to Thor and opens a portal inside Thanos' field and behind him..... Majestic rushes through and tackles him followed closely by Marvel (Shazam)
Marvel and Majestic pound the crap out of Thanos while Manhunter assaults him telepathically..... or just projects delusions into his head to distract him
when Thanos has his hands full with Marv and Maj, Thor and Bill take up positions to Thanos' 5 and 7 o'clock, MM calls the M boys off and Thanos gets a double Godblast whammy in the head.... they continue the assault until he's down or dead

come on Thanos you big purple P***Y...... you hide because you fear my new team "The Punch of Scoob"

I'm tempted to say that Doctor is at skyfather level, but given that the Doctor is still somewhat idiotic, I guess he'd have to count.

Has the good Doctor faced off against a telepathic attack yet?

I was thinking that maybe the Doctor was too powerful, but was hoping nobody called me out on it.

Telepathic?...not sure. All I know is what I read in a couple bios and the one comic I read. Nothing overtly telepathic, but his mind is linked to past Doctors, and that's a form of telepathy, right? Otherwise, I like my plan, and as long as the Doctor is still allowed, I'm stickin' with it.

And, like kgkg said, I think it would be extremely hard for any team to beat a 1-month-prepped Thanos...but I think it's possible. Scoob might have it more than once, I think my team has a decent shot, etc.

Here's another team that could take Thanos:

He-Man full power With Sword Of Grayskull

Supreme- 2nd best Pre-Crisis Supes imitation next to Mr. Majestic who is the best Superman rip off by far. Sentry's a close third imo.

Ikaris- Manipulates cosmic energy, Durability slighty less than Classic Thor, also has the same psionic ability as Sersi only not as powerful as hers. He also is an Eternal.

Ajak- Powers similar to Ikaris and is an Eternal as well.

Doctor Druid- Not as powerful as Strange, but is a powerful telepath, somewhat of a telekinetic, and well versed Druidian magic. He is also capable of creating bridges to other dimensions.

Ok here's the battle plan.

Physical distractions are provided by He-Man and Supreme.

Ikaris and Ajak provide psionic shielding for the team while simultaneously psionically attacking Thanos, and pelting him with their cosmic blasts. If need be, they could also act as physical distractions only as a last resort, because they wouldn't last long against the Mad Titan.

Doctor Druid provides telepathic shielding while erecting a bridge to another desolate dimension or the Titans new home. Thanos is immortal and will get up after each attack. So their only chance is to send him to a place where he can never return, in which Doctor Druid will do.

Any hero who is powerful enough to possibly take down THanos will have had an already exploited weakness. Heroes must have weaknesses which they overcome to succeed. Thanos COULD shut down any team with his "prep" time. You have to allow villains in. Then thanos could get a whoopin.

Out of my 3 teams, I think I'm 3 for 3. Kicking the crap out of Thanos is fun.

He-Man might be beyond Skyfather (probably depends on who you ask) but I like your team from a page or two ago.

...

I'm gonna change my team some...

Adam Warlock
Mr. Majestic
Martian Manhunter (Drax got the boot to fit him)
Dr. Strange
The Doctor (again, of Authority fame)

Since I couldn't previously prove that the Doctor can telepathically shield my team, that's what MM is for. Manhunter telepathically shields the team and stays at a distance (I'm assuming Thanos would have some uber-fire thing ready to freak out MM). Warlock and Majestic provide the physical distraction as best they can, while Strange and Doc do the real work.

Since fighting Thanos with his prep would probably be suicide, regardless of powers, the Doctor once again takes them back in time to when Thanos had a self-defeating personality. With no prep, and a poor attitude, these five would own Thanos. Send him to a pocket dimension (Strange and Doctor), project negative images into his head until he just gives up because his demeanor is already sub-par (MM would handle this), or just beat the tar out of him (everyone). The possibilities (once he doesn't have prep) are endless.

I disagree. Yes, any one hero that is below Skyfather level is going to have at least one exploitable weakness. But that's why we're in teams. Vulnerable to telepathy...get a telepath. Not enough brute force to stand a frontal assault...take your pick of class 100+ guys that could stay alive for a while. Individually the Fantastic Four aren't too great...but they compliment each other amazingly well....thus, they are more than the sum of their parts.

A good team CAN take down even a prepped Thanos (I'd cite Sentry's team(s) and Scoob's team(s) and possibly others as evidence of teams that would have a decent shot)....it's hard to do, but that's why this thread is 9+ pages long, the challenge makes it fun.

I love this thread.

Scoob, couldn't Thanos just have an uber-shield that's skin-tight or something against your punchy team? (don't get me wrong though, I love the concept...just playing devil's advocate).

The idea of teleporting inside of it assumes that there's enough space to teleport into. I know he has shields that could withstand Galactus for a while...so a bunch of sub-Skyfather chumps won't do a thing to it unless they got inside.

If he can't make it skin tight then your team is golden...but if he can, your screwed. And a month's worth of modfications might be able to do that. Just a thought...

-DM

P.S. I'd like to echo Sentry...coolest thread ever demi.

Not really, it's becoming picking obscure characters that were never main enough to have an exploitable weakness.
