I think Ron might die..... or percy, deff. one of the weasly's.
i had a freaking huge revelation when i was watching poa the other day...i think that ron will have the imperious curse put on him...he dreams that the spiders want him to tap dance, and that's what imposter moody did to the spiders in gof to show the class the curses...and jkr mentions in gof that ron had a difficult time throwing the curse off...i could be reading way too far into it, but it's a possibility
Hey guys, I know it's been a LONG WHILE since I've put anything up, but in anticipation of HBP coming out I'm rereading all the books (again)...I just finished SS/PS and found this quote on pg. 297 (Dumbledore is talking to Harry in the Hospital Wing after Harry's encounter w/ Quirrell and Voldemort)
"To one as young as you, I'm sure it seems incredible, but to Nicolas and Perenelle, it really is like going to bed after a very, very long day. After all, TO THE WELL-ORGANIZED MIND, DEATH IS BUT THE NEXT GREAT ADVENTURE. You know the Stone was really not such a wonderful thing..."
But it didn't hit me...Then on pg. 301-2 Harry is talking to Ron and Hermione and says...
"That's what I said, but Dumbledore thinks that--what was it?--'to the well-organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.'"
So as I'm sure many of your minds have got it by now, it must be an important enough element in the stories to have said it twice...perhaps it sheds a little light on our favorite God Father that died...he is simply embarking on the next great adventure!
I don't know if this little 'clue' has already been discussed, and if it has been, I apologize....but if not, lets brainstorm what the adventure beyond the Veil could be!!!
Tracy yeah, you're back! (*does dance*)
Anyways, I never thought of that! Good eye, it really helps to re-read the books over again. But you bring up an interesting point. The fact that this was brought up not once but TWICE, must indicate something.
I think that Lily, and James might be gone for good, but what about Sirus? He's the one that most recently died. And didn't JK say something like "This isn't the last time we've seen Sirius?"
So maybe he'll be back in Book 6?
I think that there are other people behind the Veil...I think I remember reading that Harry heard voices (plural). So what I'm thinking is that Sirius and the others behind the Veil will be able to help Harry and Co. w/ the mystery of the Half Blood Prince and Sirius will be able to communicate via the mirror he left in Harry's possession.
Sirius is NOT coming back in flesh and blood. This is a fact, JKR has said it herself. But he can still have an adventure w/o having a body...look at the ghosts belonging to the Headless Hunt (poor Sir Nicholas...)! I don't think he will be coming back as a ghost though, just b/c of when Harry went to go ask Sir Nicholas about becoming one...it seems like she wrote that on purpose as if to cross it off the list of possibilities.
I love the whole Heir of Gryffindor thing, that came up months ago and if it is not in the books I'll be sad. I wish there was more written about Godric Gryffindor in the books. There is a lot about Slytherin, but not the rest of the founders...
I'm on CoS right now, but I can only read on the weekends due to my immense amount of school work and therefore lack of free time and a life during the week. But hopefully some new things will strike me next weekend. Anyone else have time to reread the series to look for clues?
I agree

Neville will definitely play a large role - you ask why?
1) He has thus far been a passive character thus far, but with every novel, he gains more confidence and strength
2) His parents were both Aurors
3) The references made to Neville's skill in herbology indicate to me that he will devise something up that will kill Voldemort
4) The entire Neville vs. Harry Parents who died thing makes it an interesting twist
