Book Six : Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince [merged]

Minus the anger....You know what I loved about the third movie...the scene when he first got to Hogwarts and was just being a kid and hanging out w/ his friends. No it wasn't in the book, but that scene shows Harry Potter as a normal kid. Not "The Famous Harry Potter", not the Wizard, just Harry. I think more of that should be incorporated into the stories. Don't get me wrong, I love everything about the series, I just think more human emotion should be added (besides the anger and fear). All we really get as "comic relief" is Dumbledore's whimsy and Ron's one-line zingers.

Question: How do you think Harry will act at the Dursley's in the next book? He did save Dudley from the Dementors the previous summer, do you think they will share some sort of bond? It's been circulating that Dudley will reveal what he saw under the hood of the Dementors....will the cousins bond over that terrifying experience? What about when he leaves the Dursley's? Will he turn to Lupin for comfort?

Things with the Dursley is going to be interesting.....I'd really like to see more of Petunia since we don't really have her with a part because Vernon is usually the one telling Harry straight out. I think we'll find out more about her and what things she knows and doesn't know - what she wants to believe and accept and things she won't. I think Harry is going to try and approach her and ask questions about the letter, because he is oh-so curious.

Lupin will probably fall into his next-father role with Harry, I think his werewolf side is going to get him into alot of trouble but I think Remus is going to have a tougher time with things.

what do you think will happen in divination? Do you think that maybe Trelawny and Firenze will have to teach together or maybe Firenze will somehow convince the other centaur to let him back in the tribe... i've been wondering about this for a while.

Firenze will probably not be let back in unless Dumbledore himself gains the trust, this is just a guest.

yeah i bet that Trelawney and firenze will teach together or something

but harry's not even gonna be taking that class anymore, or at least he doesn't want to

Trelawney will get Divination back probably then Firenze will probably assist in Care of Magical Creatures or something...
Not sure. JKR is unpredictable.

yeah, I would like to see the same thing. I mean, its obvious that Petunia had some "issues" with her sister, but I would like to see her talk about her family more. Were her and Lily the only children? Are her parents dead? Did she have any aunts or uncles?

The fact that we don't know anything about Harry's family puzzels me. You mean to tell me that Harry only has 1 cousin and that's Dudley? James was an only child? And he didn't have any aunts or uncles?

Yeah it puzzles me too - we think we know about Harry's family and want to know more about others - but if you think about it...we don't really know....

Yeah that would be cool if haryy found out that he had other relatives or something then maybe he could go live with them

I personally - while we're on the subject of mystery families - would like to know more about Lupin's history...I mean we know that Remus was bitten by a werewolf when he was very young and his parents travel and he likes to travel too.

those are really good thoughts guys...i too have been wanting to know more about Petunia...theres so much mystery in her...as there is in harry's past! like you guys said...theres still so much we don't know...but i'm pretty sure we'll find out more in the next book.

yeah i hope so

i hope so aswell..you know theres that book its called a guide to Harry Potter....maybe there might be another book showing all the connections and everything with family memebers?? like where does Lupin come from......are there any other siblings besides Lily and Petunia???

ooh tomorrow im gonna go to the library and rent out all harry potter related books and find out hehehe 📖 ( I feel like Hermione) ....just kidding i dont have a library card but someone should do that one day

lol

lol@ luna.....yea they should aye....you should do it and report back!!! 😄

yeah Luna! do that!!

I think Harry's gonna have to turn to Petunia over the summer. There's no way he can go that long w/o talking about his mysterious past. Since his third year at Hogwarts he has been finding out little tid bits about his father (and this past year found out something sort of bad). Harry himself wondered why Lily had married James at all. Maybe that will come up, and cause a big fight which forces Harry to live Privet Dr. early again this year...

Do the Dursley's know anything about Harry's life? Is it possible that Dumbledore had kept in contact w/ Petunia these past 16 years, telling her of Harry's trials and tribulations. If she does know, about Sirius' death, will she (or any of the Dursleys) show Harry even a moticom of compassion? What about Dudders?

Does Mrs. Figgs know anything about James and Lily? I bet he'll go to her too...

^i agree...Petunia has gotta come more into play in the next book...she grew up in a family w/ a witch...she hated it, but she still has some magical knowledge. and that thought about Mrs. Figg is really good...i had almost forgotten about her! Harry knows shes a squib now, and oviously in contact w/ DD...why wouldn't harry want to visit her?
