Who Wants to live Forever?

Started by Imperial_Samura4 pages

I agree that one of the hardest parts of immortality would be living to see loved ones die, like parents and such. but sadly that happens when one is mortal. I would like to live on to insure they were never forgotten though.

I prefer to die as inmortality.

happy then sad and happy then sad,

Yes, I do have that unfortunate affect on people.

I guess having a body that isn't under the same rules as it once was. But being able to manifest myself into what ever I wanted to do, like eating, or flying. To really be free of the confines. If I couldn't do that, then I think a mortal body would be just dead weight to carry around. I think I'd get sick of it after awhile. I'd want some NEW dimensions to what I would be capable of doing.

I don't want to live forever. It would get kind of boring.

Well, because I like you, I'll let you have those super-powers.

BUT assuming no powers. Just your normal self, then what? No?

I would like living forever, but I know my feble body couldn't take an eternity of living

I would like to have a loooong life to see other generations and to see how our present world would be look at in the future. Live Forever? Maybe the soul but not the flesh.

Well, then I'm not sure. I think I'd like to have a cap on it, say 1000 years and if things are really to my liking then I'd like to sign an agreement for 500 year installments.

Yes, but a long life without immortality, is a long life of
old age and disease.

With immortality you live forever, and never grow old.

pparently not too many people want to be immortal. at the very
most, live a long time.

debbiejo, you talked about being a spirit-like entity, but how does
that solve the problems of seeing your loved ones die, and
seeing the world and humanity get worse, and slowly forgetting
all your past, including even the faces of your friends?

And nice signature pic as well. I too am thinking of getting one.
Congrats.

Or maybe have the ability to end the contract when everything one wants to do has been done. Personally I would like to be around to see what happens to the universe, how it ends. Then I can either congratulate Hawking, or say his ideas were wrong (by that point I think I might be quiet mad, as Hawking would have been dead for billions of years, but eh)

Seeing my loved ones die would be the most difficult. What would be neat is if I could age along with them, but when they died, go back to being young. But if I were immortal their passing would, as time went by be less and less sorrowful. I would have new relationships, but I think as time went by, I might pull back on getting to attached maybe. Not sure. It would be nice if I wasn't alone with being immortal. Lonliness and having no one to discuss the wonders that I've experienced would be such a waste if I couldn't share it and experience it with someone.

Thanks, I'm glad you like my sig...took me forever to get one..

Is it Me?????

You wouldn't mind seeing your loved one's faces slowly fade away
from your memory.

It's metaphysical. It's definitely you.

Excellent point about madness.

Oh, I would just hate seeing my loved ones pass away, but that would be the sacrifice I'd have to pay to be immortal..

This topic was briefly on "The Lord Of The Rings" Arwin (elf princess) fell in love with Aragorn (the human). Though she said she would give up her immortality for him.

It would be a hard decision.

Though if you feel that we in spirit are immortal already and that our bodies are just temporal, then once you cast off the body, you are free of it's entrapments, and in doing so can have all that you desire.

Though the body is just sub particles, each particle is alive forever, and
with that will never die, but changes form in what it's essence was.

Umm...thats not possible. Your muscles and your bones get worn out. Now if you're talking removing the brain and puttin into an adroid then you most likely will live longer.....but not your body only the brain.

Fame! im gonna live forever, im gonne learn how to fly! 😱

Who wouldn't want to live forever? The fact is, though, nobody can because death takes everyone...equally at that.

I would want to live forever, though, because my life is a great life. I am content with it.

Not if your body regenerated it's self, then you would be renewed constantly all the time and be young. I don't think I'd like an android body. I don't know if I could get into it. lol
