I've just watched T3 for the first time and really enjoyed it. OK, it's nowhere near T2 standards but it could have been much, much worse. I actually remember cringing during T2 at the humour (Hasta La Vista etc) because the first Terminator is one of the most serious and dark films ever made and I thought they were betraying it slightly by injecting humour but I suppose that's the kind of things a 13 year old kid would say to a cyborg. There were no kids in the first one after all to create some kind of comedic foil.

OK, one way T3 was different from T2 which was actually an improvement:
SkyNET is the antagonist - no ambiguity. It started the nuclear holocaust as an act of malice, pure and simple.
In T2 the T-800 suggested that SkyNET was acting in self-defence because the regulators were trying to pull the plug.
I prefer simple categories. ✅
Hrm, I think 1 and 2 were awesome, amazing films, with Terminator 2 being one of my favourite movies of all time.
Terminator 3 though, was, well, totally underwhelming.
They just kinda copied T2's entire shtick again, it was nothing new, and it has a "Star Wars" kids film type feel to it, like the scene with the very first Terminator machines - they didn't act or look like Terminator-machines at all.
The TX was just everything that they didn't do previously: "Ooh lets do a femal robot, who is more powerful than T-800 and who has all of T-1000's powers and none of its weaknesses - therefore the movie WILL ROCK". Who came up with this stuff? Homer Simpson?
The acting was rubbish. Compare Robert Patricks AWESOME T-1000 to the pathetic TX and you'll see what i mean. No comparison. T-1000 was inferior in every way to TX, but T-1000 was WWAAAAAYYY scarier and formidable than the rubbish "strength by number" drone TX.
Then there's the lack of any true grit, with too many jokes trying so hard to create a new "catchphrase". It all made Arnies character into a joke, with extremely corny and NOT cool scenes. "Hasta La Vista Baby" was great, "Talk to the hand" is just pushing it too far.
And, there was no Sarah Conner. Yeah, she just conveniently died. Man they really didn't care who was in the film did they? As long as they had Arnie, they knew it would be successful - total sell-out film lacking substance or any of the mythos and intrigue of the previous films.
I just came out of the theatre feeling slightly angry that the film was made at all.
Has anybody been on the Terminator 3D ride at Unversal Studios in Florida? Now THAT was Terminator. I wish they did it like that.
