I'll remind everyone that this is a thread to discuss the amount of threads being posted and/or the quality of those threads and wether or not they make KMC forums less enjoyable.

It just so happens that newer members are almost invariably the cause of the problem, thus the name of the thread.

i PM'd a guy he other day to ask if he knew he'd created about 200 threads in one month..... he never replied and has created more since then

i'm not gonna name him but you can probably guess who it is

This is exactly the problem, It really is quite rediculous. I don't know what kind of actions to take against this, does anyone?

Gentle persuasion is the key.
Yelling at someone new just pisses them off and makes them not care.
I'm fairly new and the first few days I made a few "already done" threads and I was asked to make sure to use the search function by Draco very politely, and it worked.

This thread here is probably working, new people read it and understand that KMC is actually a preferred place to be, and they'll respect it like I learned how to.
We just need to keep it in the top 10 as much as possible.

I guess posting this thread was a good first start, I might just be getting impatient because I don't see an immediate result. Hopefully this thread has a greater impact in the long run.

just told a kid who started a thread that has been done before to use the search engine before starting a new thread and he got all defensive ("i'm new bleh bleh bleh"😉 i told him i understand he's new and that he's not the first person to repeat a thread but it's been kind of a problem lately. all i was thinking was that i wanted tron or paola to back me up. no mod in sight. . . and i'm not critisizing them either, ive been fallowing this thread since the begining and i understand how busy they are but i mean we're still back to where we started. i think we need a temp mod. so it's up to them, but i wanna vote for a new mod. not neccisarily someone who's been here a while but someone who knows how it works and is on here all the time. i nominate cosmic cube/supessucks. he's been here a while and is always on

maybe people could be limited to so many new threads per week and a temp mod could be assigned solely to approve new threads to make sure they aren't repetitive or stupid joke threads...... ie "Muhammed Ali, Jack Dempsey, Batman versus Jplatinum"
