As for the topic at hand, I would like to be famous. Being famous doesn't have to imply that you've sold out for money. But, come on, who wouldn't love to be rich? I think I would be more in line with a political personality than an actor or something like that.
I agree with this assesment about this so-called "reality tv". First of all, there is no such thing as reality tv. Reality tv is the footage from a mall security camera, not some scripted look at how people act when they know they're on camera. I have interacted with a guy that was on Road Rules. Shawn something from North Carolina. He's openly gay and is often out at the clubs in NC. When he speaks to you, he does so with such a arrogant tone and swagger that it makes you sick. I don't know about the rest of you, but if I was going to be famous I wouldn't want it to be because I lived in a RV, eating pig intestines in barbecue sauce to win a new car. In fact, when it was all over with, I would want to find a dark place and stay there, very still, for fear that someone might recognize me. And when he hits on you, you can tell he expects you to a)find him attractive and b) submit to his advances. I got in the habit of turning around and walking off when he would speak to me. I dunno, I guess two arrogant people can't really get along.

If I were rich, it would mean never having to worry about bills, never having to worry about anything concerning money. That's my biggest plus. The fact that I can have anything I want would be cool, there are times when I want those extra CDs or what not and I can't get them.
However, a big part of why I enjoy my life is because when I DO get the money to get those things, it makes it that much sweeter. If I wake up knowing I can buy anything I want, it'd be fun for a while. Money would never change me but it'd bore me. Because I'd just be living life the same as ever, except buying more of what I want. Which again is nice but it's just not worth becoming famous for.
Fame is an add-on to me, never anything sole. I wouldn't become famous first and foremost, as my main objective. If I became famous through means of music, so be it. However I wouldn't be on TV overpromoting myself, overmarketing myself, posing on TRL or on MTV. That's just not me. Money entering into it or not.
I'd rather lay my head down on a the pillow I have set on my standard bed in my standard house as an unknown guy, than go to sleep in a mansion knowing I'd sold myself out.
You're correct though, if I was getting paid alot of money to do what I love, that would be awesome. The awesome part, to me, is the fact that I'd be doing what I love. If my fame left me the next day, I'd still be making music.

for many ppl that's all it matters... whether u like it or not, she's happy being a rich whore ****, etc.

Well then I will gladly be in the 30% of single males who would never marry her.
I would rather find a women I love because of her personality, who I can spend the rest of my life with, than a women who might have fame, beauty etc but would only be a little toy to me.

I personally don't think she's a whore in the literal sense, just in the sense of integrity and greed.
She has money, yes. Fame? Yes. Beauty? Depends on your taste. I think she's nothing special at all.
For many people it matters, but many people suck.

IceWithin, why can't you just accept the fact that not everyone in the world is shallow?
AC -- I think what ChickenMeat meant by he's going to a music college to achieve that goal, is that he's studying music to become better at it, not for the sole reason to get a record deal. I almost went to an art school, but didn't because I decided that I just wanted to keep art a hobby of mine.
