Star Trek ships easily outrace Supernova's. It's been seen several times during the seasons. Those don't matter, Warp 1 gets any Vessel to safety.I can understand Force Storm as being dangerous. However, ships in Star Trek can fight while at speeds up to Warp 9.99. There is no sensor that can track Star Trek vessels going at these speeds. Not only that, but a constitution class starship can fire from more than twice the distance of that of an Imperial Star Destroyer. It has been calculated that at full impulse it would take a mere second to travel from the Earth to the Moon. (That is frickin' moving compared to any Star Wars craft I've seen.)
1 second to travel to the moon (250 000 miles I believe) is super. Now compare it to traveling the length of a 100 000 light-year long galaxy in less than a day. In terms of speed, Star Trek is outmatched. They take years to explore one sector of one quadrant (or something to that extent) of the galaxy, and that's WITH the occasional help of a technologically superior race or a divine being.
And no fight is won by running away, it's been generally agreed to that Federation ships don't stand a chance against Imperials or their inferior ilk.
