It doesn't say it's Kotor 3 so I really wouldn' get my hopes up...but hey! who knows? Nobody but BioWare/LucasArts!
Sh*t...

I think that will happen cuz BioWare is the company that will make this game. They will definitely make it better than the shitty storyline Obsidian made.

Well, to be fair, you can't really blame Obsidian for the story, blame LucasArts for giving them such a short time table to finish the game, and for not allowing them to add a patch with the missing content. The story wasn't that terrible, just incomplete.

no it WAS terrible lol

i found the ending dissapointing, but the story on a whole wasnt terrible - incomplete maybe, and lacking in quality - but not terrible.

I have to agree, incompleteness aside, I found the game rather....lacking, in the story-aspect. I thought it was rather tired, and seemed to nullify the plot of the first game in several ways....

it was incomplete not horrible, you are right. TSLRP is workin on it right now though, so no worries.

My feelings on KOTOR II are on record, but this is not the thread to discuss that.

Yeah...lets get back to K3, then. So. Now that we are actually heading somewhere with out, what do you think the chances are of it being made by Bioware rather than Obsidian because of that link on the last page? I think that its pretty much a 100% chance (if it's going to be made at all) that it'll be Bioware...

Yes, I agree. I think GL pretty much realized that BioWare is the brighter company.

The basic premise for KOTOR III should be about Darth Revan final mission and whether it will involved the original cast of the first KOTOR.

Now there is going to be politics behind the bringing of KOTOR III. This is not the same Bioware from 2003. They're now own by EA. So, we'll have to see if Lucas Arts along with Bioware can work with EA.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Oh damn. I forgot that whole ordeal with EA. That sucks. A lot. That just gives so much more red tape for them to work through. Man. I just really wish we weren't kept in the dark so much. But hey, a few weeks and we got Mass Effect so if our original predictions were right, that we'll probably hear from LucasArts/BioWare in like a month? But I don't know whats going on with this EA thing now...so we just gotta see how it all plays out.

In my defense, I was just stating my opinion - yet you are correct.

WrathfulDwarf:

I totally agree that, if the project is indeed a KotOR-themed one, it should be centred largely (if not solely) around the end of Revan's tale, whatever that may be - if only to give the fans some closure. I'd also like to see them deal with the loose ends (of which there are many) left over from KotOR II, and also try to bring some relevance back to the plot and outcome of the first game....

WrathfulDwarf & kinslayer: RE > The Merger with EA:

My feelings on this topic are somewhat conflicting. I believe that the situation could go either way, with EA either enforcing themselves upon the partnership of BioWare and LucasArts, grasping for greater control of the project, although I'd also like to believe that they may allow for greater freedom on the behalf of BioWare due to the résumé of said developer, as well as when regarding the sales-records for the first KotOR.

I don't necessarily believe that the meddling of EA would be a bad thing, if meddle they do. The amount of money behind EA would certainly allow for a much greater production quality, although I could also see it spiralling into mediocrity....

Meh....hopefully, if it is KotOR III, EA opts for the second-half of my scenario....knowing the corporation that it is, however, I wouldn't be surprised if they meddle, to the detriment of the game.

Gosh, we don't even know if it is a Star Wars game yet. Seems a bit premature to talk about what approach Bioware will have to it.

Yep, as i said before 'lucasarts doesnt necessarily mean star wars'

...to be honest, i personally dont think it will be K3

Just following the speculation....

Very true Lucas arts makes other games like Mercenaries😛layground of Destruction is made Pandemic studious but Lucas Arts actually publishes it. I am tending to lean towards an mmorpg set in the kotor universe rather. than kotor 3.

http://www.bioware.com/bioware_info/press_releases/2006_03_15_Austin/

seen this from bioware which suggests the big announcement is an mmorpg (though we still must note it does not say it will be in the kotor universe though i think it will be.)

Lucas Arts MMORPG?

Oh, no! It could also mean...

... *gasp* SW: GALAXIES!

The idea that this refers to an MMORPG is being related in this thread:

http://www.killermovies.com/forums/f6/t468361.html

So if speculating on that line, best to do so there.

However, there is a bit of a disconnect betwen the recent announcement of collaboration and the news Hord links to, which is over a year and a half old.

So to sum up what we know:

1. Bioware have been working o an MMO for a while

2. Lucasarts say they are working with Bioware on 'something'

It's all a bit thin.
