The Papacy and the Number of the Beast 666: Coincidence?

If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast,
For it is man’s number.
His number is 666.

The Catholic Pope as what we have learned is addressed with so many titles. He used to be known as Vicarius Dei (Vicar of God), and Vicarius Sancti Petri (Vicar of Saint Peter). Along with the titles VICAR OF CHRIST, the Pope is also known as the Vicarivs Filii Dei (Vicar of the Son of God).

We all know, and therefore, we have the ability to recognize the language used in these titles. The seat of Papacy is obviously at Rome, Italy. As the Bible suggests calculating the number of the beast, we should consider the application of the Roman numbers [thus, with respect] in doing so.

Taking the title: VICARIVS FILII DEI, and translating the Roman numerals to cardinal equivalent, we get:

that's looking too much into it...i.e.: IV is still 4 in Roman numbers and not 5 by doing I+V

Actually I've looked into it and Jury is right, it is 666.

Actually, in Roman numeral algebra... it doesn't imply I+V for IV.

It says IV = V-I = 5-1 = 4.

hmm substetuting son of god or?, even so it depends on how you look at it. Is the pope a substitute of the original viacrius filii dei peter (vicarius petrus) or is it meant to be the real deal vicarius fillii dei.
Originally it was vicarius petrus, but Norways favoritye pope, Pope Innocent III that change it from vicarius petrus to vicarius filii dei

Before, it was Vicarius Sancti Petri. But they don't like to be styled in that manner. Because according to them they were not Peter's vicars... but of the Son of God. Thus, proclaiming themselves as the Vicar of the Son of God (Vicarivs Filii Dei).

it was change by church leaders who astrayed form the original way, the pope was powerful men in those days , if you didnt dance to their tune they got you excommunicated. Just like Pope Innocent III did with the Norwegian king

yeah well a Viking king was maybe a too powerful and dangerous man to kill even for a pope, guess he didnt want the wrath of vengeful Vikings on his neck, and yes different Popes have plenty of blood on their hands. They weren't truly men of the church though it was more a personal power agenda for them rather than than a religious one
