i can play with all the characters quite well.
but my best characters would have to be rafael- learnt a few tactics for one how to kinda stay out of striking range then lunge in with my owm attacks then movve out of range again
, nightmare-saw that he could be one of the better charatcers to play with if weilded properly quite slow but make up for it in power and style of attacks
, assassin- assassin he was awesome as i have mastered hwang i already knew how to use him also his move's are soo awkward that you can't really predict when or where to defend
then killik- killik first char i played with (if you have played with killik then you know wot i am talking about) i used used to have break dancing lessons all over my m8s and the comp.
and finally yunsung- quite difficult to master but once you get good with him he can be quite handy.
Though from my experience i would say that cassandra with i think teh spike and sheild sword i think it's called is the best character took out my m8 in like 2or 3 hits maybe with that sword.
she's very quick got a nice range of moves, has some very nice combos and has a good enough reach with her sword.
though i am suprised to hear about SC tourneys i am even more suprsised to hear that most people win tourneys with nightmare he is quite slow i would go so far as to say he is just a quicker versi0n of astaroth except his style differs and his attacks aren't as damaging per say.
yunsung feels very sloppy in comparison to hwang..
cassandra is nice but Im partial to sophitia
as for being surprised by nightmares power.. basically that quick punch to the face, followed by much abuse after you hit the ground easily seperates the novices from the pro's
as for the rest of the roster.. if I dont feel like actually ever learning them. I just learn like 3 or 4 cheap moves just in case Im forced to use them (via charade or something of the sort)
Yeah, I never liked Yunsung. Almost all his moves leave him open to counterattack, and most of his real damaging moves take way too long to execute.
Nightmare is extremely powerful, and fun to use once you've got him down, but there's a stage in between learning him and mastering him that you get slaughtered. A lot.
And there's really no such thing as a "best character." There are the fast guys and the hard-hitters. You just find your style and stick with it.
that depends if you're playing for money or not.. if you are .. there are best characters.. however there may be exceptions.. but you'd have to know all characters inside and out for that to work
www.soulcalibur.com forums might assist you on finding a top tier character.. (top tier basically means the character has fast moves with very little cooldown time, or very little need for caution after the move is performed.. coupled with very heavy status effect moves.. (like knockdowns, or stuns/staggers))
however if you play just for fun.. which Im guessing, then yes most characters are good for that
It's over a video game, that's not a reason to look into October already. I plan things ahead for important events happening, not what game I'll be buying whenever. I just stop into EBGames or wherever that week and grab it, I don't plan months ahead, sure the day before I get anxious for it, but thats it.
