I think Silver Tears had a good idea. I think it needs to be a sticky again.
To be honest, I know I don't use the GDF often, but that's because I know I have to have something worthwhile to say when I post there, which I do, sometimes ✅
But the OTF is where I spend most of my time coz I can relax, chat about random s.hit and just chill with the people that I meet. I don't wanna lose that, having the two places so I can post in the relevant Forum whenever the urge takes me, y'know?
closing would indeed create the problem that some OTF-people will swarm to the GDF and create the same stupid threads they made in the OTF like is already happening in small amounts
unfortunatly, I take the OTF can't and will never be closed. It's even more unfortunate that some people here lack the basic common sense to read the rules (situated here) and even go that far that they blabantly ignore them even when pointed out.
It has come that far that (and now I'm not talking about myself) some members just don't DARE to visit it anymore cause of the (sometimes childish !!!) attitude of some people.
You can say a lot, but that was NOT the intention the OTF was created for. As far as I understand it was created to first of get the GDF back on the level of intelligence and standard since it got swamped by a bunch of n00bs who made threads that now are even to the OTF very low, and second to create a more community-feeling with the members, a place where they could easily chat without getting the warning of "over a 100, closing".
But what happened? for one, the mods here are WAY to lenient! go to other places and you'll find out that if you don't agree with a mod to the point were you get into a discussion, you get BANNED. This place (KMC in general) is already a HEAVEN without many rules at all! the rules we DO have are pretty easy: no bashing, no porn, etc. That's the use of common sense that they ask.
But in all the goodwill to be lenient, some people have more and more taken the "right" in own hands and are now acting extremely cocky and agressive to people who in some cases signed up 2 years before the other one, where than the agressive one where chances are that he/she hasn't been a member yet for a full WEEK, will say that the other member "destroys his/her thread" or something.
That leniency (sp) that was first a real gift (if you've been here long enough or go into the archives, you'll know how many threads in gdf got closed cause they went offtopic) is now a serious treat to KMC! It has utterly FAILED in creating a community feeling! Where is the community?? there are groups of people, like the LOTR-folks, or the POTC-chicks, or Matrix-dudes and now the OTF-people, all those groups are per definition almost, against the joining of new members as they will never be part of the group (there are exceptions). That leniency that the mods and the admin created has now backfired into the OTF being yet another place with a singular group who now have become more ... dumb to behaving and being social towards others that didn't make their first post in OTF.
With the general idea of socialising which failed, cause it now is only focusing on people that as far as I know, never or at least not recently (now some swarm the gdf to let other people think they have brains) left the OTF, it is now creating more chaos, mayhem and wrongdoing than could ever have been intended at the start.
It is clair to me that there need to be some rules enforced here!
Not only to show how lenient mods already were (with responces to complains like "it's the otf, what did you expect?"😉 with certain subjects and that they shouldn't take it for granted and to get some decency back into some smallheaded members who need to learn their place.
When you look at the poll, it is clear that I'm not alone in the idea that there should be at least SOME modding, even when it's posted in the OTF itself, the votes show that not modding it at all, gets no support of significance
