Nah, the point I was making was that the OTF is supposed to be slightly eccentric, but I do understand Yerssot's point about the "I'm leaving" then the "No, actually I'll stay" not two hours later. Why even publicise that unless you are serious?

Anyway, perhaps it should be made known that if a member wants to leave, they should post their goodbyes in a specific "Goodbye KMC" thread, perhaps stickied in the OTF??

Then, all the others can be closed as there is still somewhere for them to say goodbye.........

That may clear the place up a bit.

The whole point of this Forum is for people to have their say, however meaningless it may seem to one person, it may just strike a chord with another. What gives one ignorant person the right to close said thread when there may be a meaningful message in there somewhere?

I know that it is difficult, but where does one draw the line? And to be honest, should the OTF really have a line to draw?

Those too, basically we gotta perhaps be a little stricter with the younger members, it seems to me that the only reason they are here is to get the most posts, have the most threads closed, or generally be the most annoying, which they see as funny.

Admittedly, it gets them attention, but if we were a little clearer about the rules, maybe people would start respecting the forums.......

When it is blatantly obvious that a thread is completely unnecessary, then closing it is not an issue, it should be done. But what about when a thread is making a point, albeit a small one, it could be that the point made means a lot more to certain people here than others, and why should only the mods get the say in whether the thread has meaning? The ratio of Mods to Members is obvious to all, there are a hell of a lot more members!!

So, perhaps a thread should be left for maybe three days, then read through by a Mod, and if the conversation seems to be leaning towards insulting, ridiculous or futile, then it should be closed. So, why not give every thread three days to become even semi-decent, can't say fairer than that, right?

I don't recall ever having anything mature to say, I never spend time in the GDF, this has to be the first time a discussion has arisen in the OTF that actually caught my attention, and made me use my brain ✅

and I agree with storm, there has to be quality, else, go take it to messengerprograms so it doesn't bother those who still want to make something decent out of it
