well the reason most wore the rebel flag at my school was becuase they were
A) using the Rebel image it is supposed to mean hence "Rebel Flag".
B) using it becuase there were cowboys.
C) they thought they were cowboys.
D) Racsist but tried to keep it sublte.

becuase of D im guessing this is why there banning it. Im very straight forward In my dislike for Rascist or even remotley Rascist activity like Stereotypes. but Im not sure if banning it will solve more problems than it will create.

For those who wore it as a Symbol of rebelion there being placed into a unfair catagory, and it being up to the powers that be will have no chance to defend there rights.

Where as those who feel it is only a rascist and demeaning Symbol are obviously very determend to rid it of schools.

whether or not it passes one group will be ignored. and this breeds trouble. hardly a case for "to make a omlete you have to break some eggs"

then again I could be wrong

ok, so we say yes if we think we should have the flags and no if we shouldent?

HEy we watched that on channel one. about some school banning the flag. 😂

i think they shouldn't ban it.

We should ban the US flag. We're setting a bad example to our children by teaching them that killing people because of non-existent WMDs is good. ✅

j/k, btw 😉

😂

I can give you the argument for and against:
For: People think the confederate flag represents a society built of slave labor and is a form of intimidation towards Afro-Americas

Against: They feel that the flag represents Southern heritage

I personally am undecided

IMO what goes on your car is none of the administrations damn business. The Confederate Flag is like the Nazi Swazzi...it is something that people can learn from...not something that should be hated.

terrible idea that flag should have been destroy the minute the Union won the war waaaay back in the Civil war. Times have change and that flag needs to disappear.

the confederate flag has so much hate written on it...the symbol of slavery in the past during the civil war

Even here in Arizona I see that flag...but i know the Southern States have it all over.

I remember in Florida they had a confed. flag in front of a capital building and they removed it.---that stirred up some shit

I am not sure if they should have removed it or not but if it was stirring racial unbalance then it was a good idea

greg freedom of speech in belgium is all fine til you insult someone by your words or you lie about certain things.

the reason why the nazi flag is banned is because it can influence other ppl in a bad way, and ppl can take offence, quiet a lot actualy.

Here in England it is considered racist to fly our own flag... the Scots can fly theirs, the Welsh can unfurl the dragon, but we English have to fly the Union Flag to remind us we are a subject race... Not allowing us to fly our flag is racist in itself. Plus I think people in The US need to be reminded that the Civil War was not a war about Slavery... that was just the big emotive excuse that the North gave to prevent the rich plantations in the south ending up beyond their control... Slavery was the WMD of its day...the war was about whether or not a state which had joined the Union should be allowed to leave it, if that state was not getting a fair deal... problem being the "sophisticated" industrial North was scared that if they let one state leave, a whole lot more would follow... Slavery persisted in the North throughout the war, and the way the North forced anti-slavery legislation on the South was done deliberately to destabilise the Confederacy and widen the Black/White divide... it actually did a lot of harm to the newly-freed slave population, and led to a great deal of the poverty and homelessness that is still endemic... The South wasn't perfect, and slavery was wrong, but the North was hypocritical and just as bad. Remember, it was the US government's declaration that Black plantation owners could no longer keep white slaves that was one of the precursors to the unrest between South and North... but then they probably don't teach stuff like that in the good ol US of A...

still kirk the flag has become a symbol of rascism and slavery for many there for it should best not be sold IMO

a southern heritage built on slavery? i think that heritage shoudl be embraced but understood that slavery was wrong and any symbols that represent that should not be used as a relevant symbol for today

Umm...The Southern states were mostly cotton crops industrialist. Whereas the Nothern States were mostly metal industrilaize. It was the Nothern States that possess all the Metal, Iron, and charcoal mills. The southerns didn't have the steel to fight the war with. They were force to buy their weapons from their friends/allies in Europe (I'm not sure if they teach you that in your neck of the woods). The Nothern states were much more powerful than the Southern states. Because they had the metal to fight a war. The Southerners had to relly on external help to fight the war.

As far as the war goes it was caused mostly because of the HUGE migration of slaves from the South to the North. Have you ever heard of the "Underground Railway"? It was causing The Northern states to get overpopulated with slaves. The Northern states tried to make treaties with the Southern business men/Plantations owners. Of course they didn't like the idea of losing their slaves! It was cheaper to have slaves than to hired workers. Thus the Plantation owners refused, the migration of slaves continue, and that was one of the main things that trigger the Civil War.

The problem with the Confederate Flag is that for hundreds of years after the civil war, racist rednecks have used it as a symbol of racism.

It's paraded by the KKK at all of their rallies.

If you want to wave it at your house or on your car, that's one thing;
But as far as public buildings go, I think it should be taken down.

I'm not sure I believe this. Anyone who can be influenced just by seeing the flag is too weak-willed for belief.

Just to make things clear, I don't like the Confederate flag, and I don't like what it stands for. I would never fly it, and I doubt that I would willingly associate with someone who did. But as I've already said, I don't think that's a good reason to forbid people from flying it.
