Too MuchTwisted thoughts, tangled emotions,
Pinning me down, confusing my mind,
What should I do, where should I turn?
What am I doing, how did I get here?
Being pulled in so many different directions,
Back and forth, around and around,
Shaking me, turning me upside down, inside out,
My head it hurts, too much to sort out,
Too much, too much, it’s just too much!
Staggering under all of this pressure,
Won’t be able to hide it for much longer,
I want to scream, shout, rage, but alas,
I cannot, lest my secret heart be discovered,
So few understand what it is I feel,
And even if they did and could sympathize,
It is still up to me to figure this out,
So long I’ve tried to, and each time failed,
Keep trying, keep trying, don’t give up,
But I can’t keep doing this forever,
I’m only human, not just some robot,
And that is the failure of human design,
We are eaten alive by emotions, by feelings,
They control us when they should not,
I pray that I will find some release soon,
Answers revealed in my weary dreams,
Lest I be eaten away from the inside out,
Until there’s nothing left of me but flesh.
