Grey

Where once everything
Was so bright, so vibrant
Now all I see
Is a dull shade of grey.
Love makes those colours,
And when it is betrayed
They all fade away,
As the heart shrivels and dies.
Grey only intensifies
My melancholy thoughts.
And why wouldn't it?
I miss the bright colours...
But I don't think I'm meant
To live in a radiant world
Where everyone is happy;
I'm not a part of that anymore.
I live within its twin
Where all the negative emotions
Make their homes.
It's so cold and lonely here.
I'd rather go blind
Than face this constant grey.
It strains my eyes, my soul;
I feel like a walking corpse

I know it hurts,
I feel your pain,

In order to heal

Of the hurtful emotions;

But it is definitely
Worthwhile in the end;
Your burdens will be lifted,
Your heart it will mend.
