The queen lays eggs, in the eggs are mobile facehuggers who grasp prey and insert alien embryo's in their chests, these parasite on their hosts untill they large enought and burst out as Aliens.
Do check out the first 2 movies in the Alien series, they make AvP look like sesamestreet.

Ooh but it does echo! They investigated that at Mythbusters and although the echo is faint and hard to detect because it is very similar to the original sound, it does appears.

really? I was on such a roll with my whacked out trivia! And now...

The duck echo thing is a common 'mistake', I believed it too until I saw the proof of the contrary.
