And if he's faster than average human thought, Magneto can assemble complex machinery with his mind and powers within a few seconds, so his 'speed of thought' is far above average.
I personally throw that argument out the window.
I'd take Magneto in a fight over Supes just like I'd take Surfer (easily) in a fight over Supes. It's not a matter of who's more powerful in as much as who has the tactical advantage. Supes powers are all based in what Magneto considers a plaything.
It's like a 200,000,000,000 (x100) ton strength Pinochio fighting a middle aged puppeteer with a flamethrower and a woodchipper (and forcefields).
Wood still burns.
this guy knows how to make a point...good job.

Because human nerve impulses travel at
"Depending on the type of fiber, the neural impulse travels at speed ranging from a sluggish 2 miles per hour to, in some myelinated fibers, a breackneck 200 or more miles per hour. But even this top speed is 3 million times slower than the speed of electricity through a wire."

The 30 m/s given on the forums relates more to the speed of conduction of action potentials in myelinated motor neurons rather than actually providing any sort of "latency of thought". The latency of a thought process depends upon how complicated the process is.
and Supes travels a little faster than this, oh and the assembing machinery in seconds is due to him thinking of a visual image, one thing, still only done at the speed of a nerve impulse (due to its complexity as X indicated a slow impulse). Supes hits him a thousand times while he thinks!!!
Actually, his powersource isn't infinite, though a lifespan of billions of years seems so. Magneto, using his control of the em spectrum, could possibly destroy said powersource. A sun is just a star. A star becomes a blackhole when you tinker with the electrons in its core....Or something like that. Haven't studied celestial bodies in a while, but it is hypothetically possible for Magnus to collapse the sun, using his powers at their optimum. Course, he could die, but he may be immortal and not truly need his human body. Then, that'll be the day that people lament a mutant being so powerful, while Superman continues to grow powers......Gotta love Icon Status!!
