Well, Dr. Polaris and Triumph disagree, but we've been down this road. The only thing Superman is clearly above Magneto in, is the brute category.
And unless Magneto succumbs to the S shield aura and drops his shields to go hth, thats moot.
Triumph was leagues more powerful that Magneto plus he had an IMP working for him.
Polaris was owned at the end.
Superman was trying to talk to both, he was hardly bloodlusted or even really trying to fight. I have the issues.
Forum misconceptions make for skewed decisions.
Polaris was owned at the end, but he was also fighting himself. So its not like either was out for blood.
All it proved, was that the two have the means to hurt him.
And frankly, Magneto is more impressive than both, imo.
Magneto has a counter for everything but the speedblitz. Barring that, i can't see how he loses.
But again, the road we tread is familiar to my eyes.
I've just been reading the old thread. I can't believe how much BS demi got away with purporting. Magneto's going to block the sun..? The shield is a completely self-sustaining environment..? Galactus can't hurt Magneto...? The shield repels everything and anything physical or energy that comes in contact with it...? It's on all the time and it automatically can repel incoming variant EM despite being transparent and allowing sound through all the time...? He electrolyzes a glacier...? 🤨 Magneto pinpointed Xavier from hundreds of miles away... nah never happened... was maybe a mile tops...

Anyways, Supes takes it.

Repulse, his other personality was going all out, Superman was trying to talk polaris out of it and not trying. Once he got the hang of the situation, it was over.
We both know Superman wasn't even trying to fight in that situation, he was trying to talk a schizo down.
There is a lot Mags would have to answer for.

That last one is a doozy... no way Superman's beating that...
The whole iron in the blood arguement is someting that always pissed me off. First off, your body only carries a few mgs of iron anyways[AT MOST, many people dont take iron in a day at all], not even the mass of a single grain of sand really. Which a single grain of sand is completely invisible to the naked eye its so miniscule..And this is spread through an entire body.
No way will removing this kill a person, the most it could ever do is make you sick after not having any in your system for great lengths of time...
Nor could you be lifted with it
And shifting it would do no real damage.
The reason that it worked in the movie, was because Rebecca Romijn-Stamos had injected the guards blood with a full vial of iron.... which, would have killed him long before he ever got to Magneto.
But I mean seriously... seriously... 😐
"Magneto can just psionically envision Superman, anywhere on Earth, and proceed to drain him."
Essentially saying no matter where Superman is, regardless of if Superman is moving at the speed of light, with no knowledge of where Superman is whatsoever, he's going to drain him and kill him... via the power of imagination?
🤨 Did he actually believe that when he wrote it?

But then again, I take it in stride.
Superman is the most hated on the forum and has the thread to prove it.

Originally posted by JuntaiI recall Polaris has knocked a large group of people out using her magnetic powers on their blood (writers don't care that it's not ferromagnetic). So it's conceivable that he can do it. But likely only on stationary targets that he can see or at least perceive and which have similar reaction to his own.
Does he actually do that in the comics anyways?
Edit: Also assumes a normal human physiology.

Most people with human frailty Superman can just breath at and overinflating their lungs so they pass out. I don't see why mags is any different, especially given Supes superior reactions.
Originally posted by xmarksthespotSure, that too. Even if the blast itself doesn't, as it can and usually is concussive as well, but is not limited to be that, the heat should still get through as heat itself I don't believe can be effected magnetically either.

Another thing many people faily to acknowledge in threads is how characters who have never met Superman [even WITH basic knowledge] will guage Supes and his abilities[and how he utlizes them, as does things way beyond his typical powerset by application of power] before its far too late. While Supes has the next best thing to cosmic awareness.
Ah but have you forgotten... Magneto's shield is immovable it repels all force against it even though he's been moved by force/energy striking it before.. and Magneto controls the four fundamental forces of the universe even though he's shown little control of gravity, weak and strong force, if any.
I would say general powerset is encompassed in general knowledge, but diverse application wouldn't necessarily be.
