I don't really care for this guy's stances on alot of things. Then again I could give a rat's ass cause I am not catholic and not all that religious.

However, to call him a nazi is a little too much. Most all the children in germany at that time were put into the nazi youth whether they believed in the party or not. It wasn't a choice for many kids at all, so let's not go jumping on the "the pope was a nazi" wagon just yet.

well until how old was he in the hitler youth movement?

and either way, it's kind of..odd that the new Pope used to belong in a group which supported a man who killed millions of people...
*jumps to the doubt wagon* 😛

At max until he was 16 or 17... By that time they were all send to the east front, i don't think he was that old by the time WWII ended though

Benedict was not a Nazi. He wasn't a Nazi sympathizer, etc. At the time, almost all German boys were in teh Hitler Youth. They were not "forced " to join as so many people have said. However, there was an overwhelming social pressure to join. Unless you were Jewish, you were expected to join.

Every Single Jedi is now an enemy of the Church.

Thats pretty much the same thing, you grew up with Nazi all around you, schools talked about it. theathers were filled with it, flags were everywhere all you heard on the Radio was propaganda, you couldn't escape it. Children were being brainwashed

Personally I think this is one of our good friends best Pictures yet. And to think he once baptised babies.

J-Ratz looks pretty evil in that pic.

how certain are you of that?

Completely certain. Give the poor guy a break. "Poor" being the operative term here. Regulars to this board know how I feel about religion, but this guy grew up in an nation of uncertain terms. Just because he's Pope now, doesn't mean he was a nazi. And coming from me, that's a stretch! There's a lot of difference between a nazi and the leader of the largest group of land owners in the world. As far as I'm concerned, that's all he is: A land owner. When was the last time that mattered? Besides, when was the last time a Pope gave orders, and the rest of the catholic church(specifically in America) listened? He's as unimportant as grits in a southern home fry. We might as well be eating lamb balls without knowing.

Besides, do you honestly believe that the carninals know less than the average American citizen? Don't, because it will bite you in the ass.

Completely certain
I anint saying he was a devoted NAzi bu there is no way you can be completly certain that he wasnt

well the cardinals aint above coruption so I dont know what they know about the past of Raizinger, As far as we know there might not be evidence at all of Raizingers devotion or lack of it to the Nazi propaganda. If he has a shady past he has been able to hide it well if he hasnt he has nothing to hide.
Point is I wont be surprised if someone came forth claiming that he was devoted Nazi

He's the freaking Pope, you idiot. He's not a nazi. Pick up the current issue of the New York Post for the full story on his life so far.

He's the freaking Pope, you idiot. He's not a nazi.
I didnt say he was a nazi you retarded mental case

I do believe they have pictures and records of him first enlisting in the Hitler Youth and later the German Army. He did, however, desert and spend time as a POW. (prisoner of the US forces)

Now for the "good" things:

He can apparently speak 10 languages.

For those Catholics that are utter xenophobes, this guy's the man. Before becoming Pope, he headed the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, known by many as the modern version of the Inquisition, this department sought to retain traditional values in Catholic doctrine.

He denounces rock music (yes, specifically, rock music)

He's on your side, homophobes.

And the best thing is that he's speaking like he honestly wants to continue in JPII's legacy, treading the razor's edge between the twin perditions of being too conservative and too progressive. He really seems like he wants to make some long-needed reforms to the church, but he wants to roll them out slowly as to allow the laity time to adjust and embrace each new development.

But, we'll have to see.

but he wants to roll them out slowly
yeah as he had time to do it slowly 😎

Man, God is so lucky that good Vs evil doesn't come down to music because Satan is partying right now.

He has Hendrix, Dimebag, Staley, a whole host of great Rock musicians. God is blatantly up there with some Pop star and will be entertaining Justin Timberlake when he dies.

😆 you have a point.

I wonder if there was a reason for choosing such an old-assed pope... I swear, he probably knew Jesus in person.

geez people not because he's the pope means he's the hollyness!! it's VERY possible that he has a past, which involved him being a nazi, that he regreted being a nazi afterwards or whatever, I don't know... but it's possible that he was...

Hundreds of thousands of people were fanatic nazi's during WWII who now all realise they were wrong and stupid. I've seen documentary's on people that fought on the eastern front people that fought at D-Day, and god knows what other places... They all said they would die for Hitler and the Nazi ideal then, but if they were there now knowing what they do now, they woudl definitly walk away.

Being a Nazi in germany during WWII is not to be ashamed of or weird, it was something almost everybody was. There is a reason Hitler was so immensly popular you know... It didn't matter what he was back then as long as he doesn't feel the same anymore, which he most likely doesn't.
