Isnt the new pope the guy that was involved in the hitler youth??

It said something about that on the news last night.. he was enrolled to it apparently, but he never joined the nazis. And when they asked him to join he fled or something.

trondheim, alesund, oslo...and i don't remember the rest
hmm strange my friend is half Italian, and his family goes to the Catholic church twice each Sunday, my friend dont attend though he is as faithless as me, so at least here they follow the routine from other catholic countries. And in this town they have ceveral services in ceveral languages during Sunday due to the internationality of the population in this city.

I very much doubt that, i don't know in what part of Germany he grew up, but most children in that day were pretty fanatic

no i don't think they did have much choice.. and didn't some of them betray their parents if they'd said anything anti-hitler?

btw yep cool avvy clovie 🙂

a bit about Joseph Ratzinger or Benedict XVI, gods pitbull/panzer cardinal........he he many name for this dude.
Well as a cardinal he condemned the Beatles in 1996, (they split up in 1970) so he is aware of whats hot 🙄 at the moment.

He is of the opinion that Aussie band Ac/Dc actually stands for Anti Christ/death to christ and not Alternating Current/Direct Current as it really refers too.
And last year he ordered catholic priests in USA to deny Presidential candidate John Kerry communion cause he was pro choice.

He has been head of the department "defender of faith" in the vatican, previous known as the Holy Inquisition.

So yes he sounds like a bag of fun this new dude in charge

Awe, a rational progressive thinker I see.

Ratzinger' s past includes brief membership of the Hitler Youth movement although there is no suggestion that he was involved in any atrocities.

the inquisition, those ppl are seriously not nice 😬

Im not liking this enw pope so far... heh but time will tell

I find it hard to believe his hard line beliefs and somewhat fanatical zeal in the status quo will attract the masses to him (the whole getting more bee's with honey instead of vinegar comes to mind). But who knows, its a troubled world, maybe his views will work wonders, providing people are scared enough...

I don't really care for this guy's stances on alot of things. Then again I could give a rat's ass cause I am not catholic and not all that religious.

However, to call him a nazi is a little too much. Most all the children in germany at that time were put into the nazi youth whether they believed in the party or not. It wasn't a choice for many kids at all, so let's not go jumping on the "the pope was a nazi" wagon just yet.

Everybody in Germany at that time was, you could hardly not be...

Not being a Nazi pretty much meant the end of your life or having a life not worth living... You can't blame him for that, you can't even blame him if he fought in Berlin against the soviets believing it was the right thing to do... You should just all hope that he has learned from his mistakes back then and doesn't feel like that aynmore..

But if he stills feels like that now hardly matters considering he's still an conservative idiotic idiot

That's redundantly redundant.
