No it was just the too typical not classic by any means, it didint surpass any war movie on any kinda field

What are you talking about? Windtalkers is a classic war movie. It has everything a war movie is suppose to have and some moments in the movie were remarkable.

I got to say
Platoon
Bridge over river kwai
and pearl harbour

Pearl Harbor (**** you, I loved it)

lmao

I'd say...

We were soldiers (exellent, very graphic)
Platoon
Full metal jacket
Saving private ryan
and the Band of Brothers series were great.

the thing that amazes me, before we were soldiers was edited, it was 150 hours long, amazing...

best of the best.

Platoon
Band of Brothers (if it counts as a movie)
The Thin Red Line
All Quiet on the Western Front
Patton

so many suggestions...most of the totally shit but never mind

the vietnam scenes from "dead presidents"....those were brutal...if you havent seen it i suggest you do...

as for great war films

glory
empire of the sun
das boot
the killing fields
zulu
the deer hunter
schindlers list

Platoon, hands down. The most realistic depiction of the Vietnam war ever in a film.

I also love Full Metal Jacket with a passion, but platoon is the better film.

What he said....

oh ya, the deer hunter and glory were also great.
