I agree. If you know the risks, know about protection and how to properly use it, and believe you're ready, then it's okay. Just don't allow yourself to be pushed into it if you don't feel like it's the right time. Though in general I think that under 15 is too young....but then again, I'm 19 and only just had sex for the first time myself.

I started this thread because I wanted everyone's opinion on young teenagers/teenagers having sex. For instance im part of a girls advice community on the net and there have been SO MANY 12 and 13 year olds saying they've had sex and/or are pregnant. It really annoys me. I mean, Im 15, turning 16 next month and I havent had sex before. Im not saying I wont, but I wouldnt have when I was supposed to be running around with my lil girlfriends, playing dress up, and playin with fking dolls! I read about this 13 year old girl that is going out with a 21 year old and she wants to have sex with him. THAT IS WRONG! Sex at that age is just wrong.
dolls, 13? now usually girls start smoking at the age of 12/13 and most of them (that I know of) lose their virginity at the age of 15
is it wrong? yeah... they all deserve their childhood, it's obvious they don't want to accept it but everyone should have a normal childhood, they just skip from dolls to parties 😖
I don't think the problem is with sex ed, in fact i think sex ed is a good thing for kids of their ages, to show them what would happen if they have sex with out condoms, how much they birth would hurt, contractions, etc.

I dont mind teens having sex, if they knew about contranception, but they dont, because they're still wet behind their ears.
I learned early on about the importance of it. I had a close cousin who ended up getting pregnant in november-ish of her senior year. She ended up dropping out before she graduated. Even though she was old enough to know right from wrong, you're never too old to make stupid mistakes. She is three years older than me, so I learned early on how one stupid mistake can make your entire life fall apart. I ended up going on the Depo Provera shot shortly after I ended up getting serious with my boyfriend (I was 15 at the time, but we're still together almost 4 years later 😄 ).
For all the girls out there the Depo Provera shot is a great way to go, in case anyone is interested. It's 99.8% effective, because it shuts your whole baby-producing process down.... and all you do is go get a shot every three months. Although it DOES NOT protect you against STD's, so although its great in preventing pregnancy, it's still best for the guy youre with to use a condom....cause you never know. I'll leave it at that.
So the moral of the story is, schools and parents need to start teaching kids about contraception. Everyone needs to stop acting like sex is evil, and start educating kids, because in the end it will only help them.
Even though abstinence shouldn't be left out, it is mostly practiced by the few teens left who have strong moral, religious, and *ahem* self control. (High five to all those people by the way... way to be sticking to your beliefs).
*sorry if i'm preaching to y'all.....it's just something i really believe strongly in*

yea but sumtimes its easy to tell people to not have sex, but avtually from 13 onwards, ur hormones can get a little difficult to handle even if theres no social pressure.
it dosn't really matter if your hormones are all messed up when your 13, your still to young to know the full implications and precautions involved with sex. they dont teach you that stuff at school till your 15 (i assume american is similar to aus in that regard). i'm 18, i have only had sex in the last 6 months, my girlfriend is 17, i dont see anything wrong with that, if she was 14, i'd be ashamed of myself. one of the guys i know slept with a 13 (she might have been 12 we didn't find out) year old. i got a tennis racket and made him bleed
