...wow.

I'll definitely agree that that made no sense half the time (hello there plotholes you can drive a train through), but even so.

There were two scenes in particular that very strongly reminded me of Star Wars 😛

No more David Tennant, though...

Oh, and that the President was Rassilon was just... wtf?!

I take it you were not happy by that? I must say that indeed was a load of rubbish, Rassilon was in the Five Doctor's story and was no way was he evil as I recall.

As for the the Xmas special I found it dull, yes we all knew the Master was going to do somthing big which he did. Once again they dragged out the ending of part two which was boring, the only interesting thing came out of it was the fact the Time Lords created the Master just to save there own rotten skins.

Avenge story but could have been better for DT's last story.

Oh, well, there's always been a vibe that the ancestral Time Lords were evil (2nd Doctor says as much in The Five Doctors)- it is just a continuity nightmare is all, Rassilon being ancient history.

Surprised they did not throw Omega in there as well. I bet Omega does get used at some point.

The Doctor basically stated why he was 'evil', that the war had caused the Time Lords to go to extremes, + they knew The Doctor was about to wipe them out in the war and destroy their whole culture...

Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that Rassilon is a legendary figure who died millions of years before the Doctor was born- and time travel or not, that is very weird and worthy of explanation at some point.

Ah, yeah, would be cool if they would explain that, but, well I doubt it.

Maybe he was brought back to help in the war, ala The Master...although then you have the whole problem of getting through the Tomb and stoof...

I'm liking the apparent return of

Spoiler:
The Weeping Angels
shown in the preview on the previous page.

Also,

Spoiler:
The Dalek shown looked quite, old school in its design, as does the new TARDIS layout

No more David Tennant.......🙁 and now we have this new poofter.

cry

When is the new season starting?

No

Yes, you don't. Stop replying.

I think that this isn't the same Rassilon. It pretty much can't be, nor should it be. Rassilon always represented the good in Timelords. Making him evil is stupid.

I adore what I've seen of Matt Smith so far, can't wait for the new series to start. 🙂 It would have been nice to see the preview of the new series at the end of the second part episode, like they did last year. Think they did last year...

First of all, now you are pretty much just trolling. Secondly, don't presume to order me around in the thread.

For that, you now have an official warning Keep it up and it is a ban.

Rassilon never represented good, only power. His only previous appearance in person was as part of a trap that forced people to endure forever in stone.

There's no way that name was used without the intention of it being a direct link.

I wonder how long Dr Who can go on for since timelords have something like 12/13 lives, and the Doctors on his 11th so he hasn't got many left, I guess he could be resurrected though

Yeah, it is really a non-barrier. The Master has gone past it; they just need to plot it for the Doctor.

He's been resurrected twice, do you get your lives back when resurrected or are you limited I wonder...like you get...5 when resurrected
