Official Doctor Who Thread

Amy might replace Rose as my new fav Doctor Who chick.

Rose was always dead last for my favorite. I like Amy a lot, but I'm not quite sure if she's as awesome as Donna was, though.

I'm kind of "hmmmm" about bringing the Daleks back like that. One of my friends on facebook made the comment of "Go go Dalek Rangers!" after watching that episode, though 😂

I cannot stand Donna, ugh. Martha is way better than her.

Martha was the worst out of the lot.

Ummmm no, Donna is. Her Dad is cool though!

I haven't liked any of them...

Except...that wasn't Donna's dad.

Martha was pretty awesome during her season, but when they brought her back there was really no point to it, and it was just a waste of her character.

Rose was the worst of them, though, I think.

Sorry, Grandfather(Wilfred) I meant, duhhh.

I liked Martha. She was a little whiny, but I liked her character development.

Donna was such an annoying person. Even when she was in good episodes, something connected to Donna was always my main problem, whether it be something she did, won't do, or if she just wouldn't shut up. I'm a talker myself, but she was talkative to a science fictional level. The show has tin can monsters, lizard people, time travel, ancient gods, organic-based planet swallowers, sea cucumber monsters, and stone angels. And in all of that, the one thing I can't believe is how much Donna talks.

However, the worst companion ever was without a doubt Mel. Right behind her is Adric and Adam. Runner up is Peri.

My favorite companions are the Brigadier (who I count as a companion), Captain Jack Harkness, Leela, Jamie, Jo Grant, Rose Tyler, Wilfred Noble (I count him too), and Zoe Heriot.

Didn't like Rose either and especially the love bit

Sorry, I was going by the revamp group, not every companion, didn't watch the older series as much as I do since it started with CE.

I've been around people who talk as much as Donna, or more, it is possible.

Just watched "King's Demons," and it was very good. The Master was awesome in it. My only issue was the rushed ending it had, not to mention I'm not much of a fan of Kamelion.

I'm watching "Doctor Who and the Silurians" right now, and it's really good. I love the Silurian voices, and the mechanical dinosaur is cool. Pertwee's Doctor is so appealing and well performed. My only tick is the Doctor's need to insult Brigadier, who is only trying to help. However, his message on the matter is right. I love the Third Doctor because he's a genuinely good person, but was somewhat easily irritated because at that point in time he was at his lowest of lows (stuck on earth, constantly prodded by the military, scoffed at by snobby jackasses, ect.), and yet he still did everything he could to protect everyone, even the people he couldn't stand. But at the same time, he would look at this practically, sometimes having to make very hard choices that result in harm whether he likes it or not.

So I finally got to watch the first episode of the season this past Saturday night on BBC America. I really enjoyed the episode and was very impressed with Matt Smith, he is going to be a top notch Doctor. He had all the charm and wit that we've come to expect from the character. I'm excited for all the new upcoming episodes.

Critical vibe thus far for the next episode is good...

my list for nuwho companions
Favourites
Donna, Amy

then
Martha

then rose

Rose I found just annoyed me, trying to act like the doctor...when she left or 'died' I was quite happy to be honest...

Yea, and its Moffat doing one of his own villians, which seems to me to be a nice touch. Although I kind of hope they don't turn into Dalek-like perpetual baddies.

I wasn't a huge fan of the episode. The whole plot seemed rather rushed, like they were just chucking plot at me with no real regard to whether it made any sense at all.
I didn't like basically everything about the second half of the episode. It was way to plot-hole-y.
Here's hoping for a better one.

Spoiler:
Also, can they stop applying the crack thing with a sledgehammer? A subtler treatment would be nice... I hate to be pining for Bad Wolf, but come on.

You know a companion I really like? Ian Chesterton. He's nerdy and uptight, but when it comes down to things, he's a badass. And when he is being nerdy, he's really entertaining, not to mention a likable guy.

I finished "The Silurians" and liked it a lot. The Silurians are great opponents. Instead of an entire race being bred evil like most, they are very human in which some are good, and some are bad. But they all had the same goal: Peace. Great story.

Now I'm watching "The Chase," and it's really awesome so far. This is how the Daleks should always be: Terrifying, almost unkillable, and efficient. The Doctor isn't about destroying them because he doesn't know if he can. Instead, his first priority is to get his companions safe and run like hell. Not only that, but there's a moment in which we watch reenactments of time, including Shakespeare (a version I kind of prefer over the new show's interpretation), Abraham Lincoln, and the Beatles (an awesome video).
