The BBC has got egg all over its face...

Norton trail angers Doctor fans
Thousands of Doctor Who fans have contacted the BBC to complain that the ending of Saturday night's episode was ruined by a trailer for the next show.

The on-screen caption featured an animated cartoon of presenter Graham Norton, host of Over the Rainbow.

It appeared as The Doctor, played by Matt Smith, was making an emotional speech during the story's cliffhanger ending for The Time of Angels.

The trailer was seen by millions of viewers watching on BBC One in England.

Fans have also been complaining on social networking site Twitter. One wrote: "Why is the BBC treating its audience like idiots?"

Another said: "Don't blink or Graham Norton will catch you."

The BBC often promotes programmes in this way but the corporation has acknowledged that in this case the scheduling was inappropriate.

A BBC spokesman said: "We apologise for the timing of Saturday night's trail."

It is not the first time an unexpected appearance by Norton has angered Doctor Who fans.

When the series returned in 2005 after a 16-year break, a technical error caused Norton's voice to be briefly heard over the episodes opening scenes.

Watched "Brain of Morbius" and enjoyed it a lot. I just wish that they kept Morbius around longer. He's a good opponent for the Doctor.

Baby mystery for Doctor's assistant
Thu 29 Apr 5:40 PM. By Press Association

..Who's the daddy? The Doctor's sidekick Amy Pond seems to be expecting a little visitor.
Amy - played by actress Karen Gillan - is seen with a bump in a forthcoming episode, Amy's Choice, to be screened next month.

The show, due to air on May 15, is partly set five years into Amy and The Doctor's future, when she is pregnant.

Fans of the hit Saturday night show will soon see the arrival of her fiance, Rory (Arthur Darvill). Show bosses are keeping tight-lipped about the pregnancy - but are promising viewers will get an insight into how the apparent new addition occurred.

The episode will also feature the Tardis parking in a flowerbed and The Doctor (Matt Smith) driving a camper van.

A programme source said: "Viewers will have to wait and see how the pregnancy came about, but as always with Doctor Who, things are not always as they appear."

The baby thing was mentioned in the radio times a month or so ago.

Uh oh.

Fandom explosion coming at those last few minutes!

Good episode, looking forward to seeing the up coming episodes...its all about Amy Pond

Best story so far...

There is some tremendously interesting speculation going on about possible deliberate continuity and on-screen references that add up to something very odd going on with the Doctor.

This may be utter nonsense. It may simply be a continuity slip. But I'll mention one of the things under discussion. On the off-chance this is actually a genuine reference to something, don't read this if you don't like super arc spoilers.

Spoiler:
The point under discussion is the bit where the Doctor comes back to Amy immediately after apparently leaving her in the forest, asking her to trust him.

The Doctor at this point is wearing his jacket- which he should not have.

I don't know- it seems a bit... fan wish fulfilment for such a complex sort of thing to be going on as suggested in a show like Doctor Who. Still, keep a look out for such things.

Must....not....read....spoilers....😒

Brilliant episode the shot of the moving angels was awesome

I was hoping they would have such movement shots, very effective.

Nice episode to finish the two parter.

I nearly died laughing, oh my god...

Speculation on the thing I mentioned above is continuing.

It can only be one of two things- a significant continuity error (as the costuming appears to be rather deliberate) or indeed a very clear timey-wimey plot from Moffat.

The whole 30 seconds did seem a little out of place, thematically. Worth watching that bit again.

Spoiler:
It is currently known as the Future Doctor theory, on the idea that it is Doc 11 from later in the series revisiting earlier moments. There are moments in The Eleventh Doctor and Victory of the Daleks that have also been nominated as potential showings from Future Doc. VERY speculative, this.

Incidentally, it seems that not only is the Doc in that bit wearing a jacket... he's wearing a DIFFERENT jacket- the one he will wear later in the series, having lost his original to the Angels

After all... what WAS he referring to when he asked her to remember what he said when she was seven?

It was a bit of a let down for me. It wasnt as good as last weeks part 1. But the Amy and River plot seems intresting thiugh.

They seem to be heavily implying that

Spoiler:
River killed the Doctor
... and
Spoiler:
that scene DOES stand out a bit, I'm in support of the Future Doc theory
.

The implication that River did that, though, is being implied in the same way as it was implied in Silence in the Library that she was his wife. Which now looks less likely.

I think Moffat is throwing out a different dummy every time.

I definitely read the scene as sounding like that was a possibility, yeah. Though who knows.
