Official Doctor Who Thread

RTD does not seem very minded to bring back the Master but has left the option open.

The Master has become a bit of a pantomime villain in Who, so he would have to be re-introduced properly.

Nice though Sontarens are, the thing is that, at the end of the day, they are just another alien species. They are clones, true, but other than that they are much like Klingons.

Unlike the distinctive nature of the Daleks and Cybermen, or even the Nestene/Autons, there is nothing particularly unique about Sontarens.

So what I am getting at here is that if they do an episode which needs a sci-fi alien enemy, it might be nicer to invent a new one rather than use the Sontarens just for the sake of the past.

That said, they did that with the Slitheen, and I don't think they worked.

The more new monsters the better I think.

How many more episodes do we have of the current series?

Anyone know when the new series is being shown in Australia? Haven't even seen the Christmas special yet 🙁

Seven

Thanks 👀

How about the Doctor slap bang in the middle of a war between the Daleks and Cybermen and he can not come out the winner, he has to decide which side to back?

Ooh very interesting. I'm trying to think which side he would team up with, but I can't decide which one.

Hmmm.

The new series is excellent (David Tennant being the best Doctor) but it lacks the flair of the last series. Why are all the stories set on Earth? Why is it always mind-control? For series 3, bring back monsters, bring back aliens, bring back enemies such as the Sea Devils,. Sontarians, Ice Warriors, The Master and The Zarbi.

I totally agree CrazyEyes!

Well that episode was very....

😖leep:

Yeah it was a bit. I was expecting a better follow up to the excellent Cybermen episode. Oh well, I wonder what next week has in store for us. Although saying that, the preview looked as bad as this week's episode. 🙁

No no no!

They are tied enough to the old series already. The old series died for good reason, and they are pushing forwards with great popularity precisely by NOT falling into that trap. I really hope mentioning The Zarbi was a joke.

As for Earth- yes, it was a shame the whole first series was Earthbound, but not the first time they have done that, and it has been explained in them wanting to find their feet first. The more times goes by, the more adventerous they will get.

Right now, they are not producing stinkers, simply nothing special. The Cyberman story was ok, this one was ok... all a big load of ok right now.

The next storyline is the first set on a proper alien world since the series re-started, so let's see.

Another good one this week, as to what Ushgarak said I would like to see more stories on other planets hopefully in the next series. I but do agree Doctor Who must move forward after all this is the new show with a new format which is making steady progress, we must give it a chance to deliver the goods.

I did not really like last night`s episode.

That episode in my opinion is the first good one, of this new series.

Great Episode.

This new episode was very good, shame it is a to be continued episode .

for the first time ever im kinda liking the Doc and this epi was quite strange but good 😄

Yeah, I want to see how they portray the devil.

The Episode with the wire was the worst ever. The new episode kind of reminded me of Alien where they hardly show the Alien killing and they leave it to your imagation. The same kind of horror techinque Riddly Scott used for Alien.

which ones that with the wire
