How could anyone have actually expected Rose to die?

It was obvious she wasn't going to die from an interview they gave, she said something and ended it with 'For now'...

It was okay, nothing mind blowing and very cringeworthy in scenes.

I take it Catherine Tate will be his sidekick for the Christmas special since the official new sidekick will not be in it until series 3...

I hope they don't keep putting washed up comedians in.

Peter Kay, Catherine Tate...

But yeah, good episode. And Rose can't return, clap.

Good fight scenes aswell. ✅

Daleks were soooo gooood.

I don't like the sound of the Christmas special, the run away bride sounds like a poor episode just like last Christmas one was. Over all this series was slightly better than the last one, lets hope series three will be even more better.

Don't bank on it. Plan B the return of Rose will be there ready to go. 😛

Were you really expecting Rose to die? If it was going to happen they wouldn't say that she was going to, as soon as I hear that I know they're going to survive.

I hope they don't keep putting washed up comedians in.

Catherine Tate is actually suppose to be a good actress, so if they don't bring in something over the top like in her comedy show, it should be fine.

I don't think she should have been introduced at the end of this episode though, spoilt the atmosphere imo.

that last episode was soo sad it really was i mean i love billie piper she is so unbelievably hot and she was in love with the doctor and they'll never see each other again....or will they.....queery tho. shouldnt the tardis have been sucked into the void? just an observation. also when the bride was in at the end i thought it was really freaky. untill she opened her mouth. was good tho made me feel better lol

Nah, I watched the Doctor Who Confidential and I'm pretty sure they won't.

they might not....but there is always hopein_love

If she returns, it will suck. good episdoe except the end of the Daleks/ Cybermen was kinda anti-climatic (leaves it open for a return though)... and it was a happy ending, I guess... onequery: a trailer showed a Cyberman saying to the Daleks: "tOGETHER, WE CAN UPGRADE THE uNIVERSE"... WHERE DID that come in?

When the Daleks come off the Void ship, two Cybermen go to investigate, after the Dalek and the two Cybermen talked for a while the Cyberman said that. The Dalek then denies AND KICKS THEIR ASS!

i loved the hole 'exterminate'.....'delete'.....'exterminate'.....'delete'.....'exterminate'.....'delete'.....'exterminate'.....'delete'..... ha ha ha love it

I must admit I loved that line from the Dalek to the Cybermen "Pest Control" nice touch. 😆

How about the Doctor slap bang in the middle of a war between the Daleks and Cybermen and he can not come out the winner, he has to decide which side to back?

Even though this post was posted way back then, this was episode 12 & 13; Army of Ghosts & Doomsday. My question is why has this thread been created when I already made one about any series & not just series two?

Anyway I was so sure Rose would die & kind of hoping she would because then it makes it even more dramatic. What's with the superhero just in time rescue with Pete, that was very coinsidence wouldn't you say? I don't mind her living but that rescue was too much, he just happened to jump in a save her... 😬

I've loved this series so much, & last series too! My favourite episodes were & episode number:

2. Tooth & Claw (I love werewolves...& wolves!)
5. Rise of the Cybermen.
6. Age of Steel (more Cybermen & fantastic episode!)
12. Army of Ghosts
13. Doomsday (The Doctor's greatest enimies, the Cybermen & Daleks at war, woohoooo!)

In my opinion, I think Rise of the Cybermen should have been called Age of Steel & Age of Steel called Rise of the Cybermen, in other words just swap the titles. That way we get a suprise when we see the Cybermen & not knowing about them until that time comes, it's fun to be suprised & not know! We all knew about them though when we saw the title...& plus clips from the week before, but they shouldn't have shown us the Cybermen but just other bits.

I didn't like The Idiots Lantern much, probably the worst episode I've saw so far but I guess it was okay, some bits were good but it wasn't great, mistake there. Peter Kay looked great as an Abzobaloff but should have included that more & The Doctor who was hardly in it. Good monster though & designed by a 9 year old child, did anyone know that? It was on Blue Peter last year, Doctor Who contest to design a monster & it won.

I didn't like the last episodes' ending with the bride, it really ruined the atmosphere & the feelings of The Doctor all sad then whoom, a bride is in his TARDIS, what's that all about!? Didn't like the ending at all, well it funny when she said, "What the hell is this place?!"

As always a huge post from me but I didn't know about this thread because there's already my own but no one's posted in a while. Can't wait until Christmas though! Sit down on Christmas Day enjoying Doctor Who, that's my idea of having a good time, lol! 😊

So we had two new seasons and two new Doctors, is the show on the up or down?

I think it is making steady good progress and D.T. is a much better Doctor, I would like to see more story's off Earth and the return of the Master. Here's an idea the Master was behind the time war his plan was to make the Doctor suffer which he has. Make a good story line that would, or so I would like to see the original Cybermen come face to face with the new one's and of course the return of Davros.

I'm not familar with a lot of The Doctor's enimies since I only started watching it when C.E. as The Doctor, but now in a short time I'm a series fan who loves it & my bedroom door is full of Doctor Who posters & Stickers, heck I even got a birthday card last year & a remote control Dalek. Next the Sonic Screwdriver!

I don't know who the Master is or Dalros because I was never introduced to Doctor Who as a kid yet I wish I was. I'm only 17 too so I wasn't even born when the last Doctor Who was on before C.E. introduction.

Davros created the Daleks his first story was in the Tom Baker ere, Genesis of the Daleks.

The Master is or so a Time Lord who is Brilliant and Evil.

Saturday comes a long, like it does every week. Doctor Who on at 7. There's me, been waiting all week for it. Then... I get told, yes told, to go pick up my sister... at half 7! I said I would before I rememebered about the Doctor! Eek! I wasn't very happy with myself, or my mum for that matter. So I decided I would miss the whole episode rather than miss half hour of it. So that leads to Sunday. Says it was on at 7, just like Saturday, but wasn't on until 10! so I had to wait even longer. (what a weekend I have had).

Anyway 10 o'clock finally comes round and I lay promped up on my bed and finally watching the last episode of Dr Who (until Christmas... oh what is it with the waiting!?). And I must say I am very happy with the way it ended. Daleks and Cybermen! Woo! Poor Cybermen, didn't stand a chance. I kinda felt disappointed that Rose didn't actually die, but I'm happy she survived. I really liked that episode actually. I'll let you into a secret... I nearly cried, only because I could see the Doctor welling up. Awww. When Billie cries on-screen I can feel myself starting to. She's more convincing with her acting than her music, lets face it. And that was a bit annoying yet sad, when the Doctor was going to say his final words to Rose, which were 'I love you'. But time was up for the ol' Doc. Aww. Anyway enough 'aww's'. The bit with Catherine Tate broke the mood, but was kinda good. Didn't want us feeling sad until Christmas did you. So I liked the idea of her and her lightening the mood.

Well I don't know what to say now so I will call my little comment to an end. Until Christmas! Let's hope its better than the less than average Christmas episode from last year. [shudder]

Oh at last we know what those 3D glasses are. That was kinda bugging me actually.

Anyway I'm going to dress up as David and make my sister look like Billie now. So as I said... until Christmas.

Ta ta. 😉

The last fifteen minutes of The Christmas Invasion were very good indeed, it was only the build up that did not work. The Christmas episodes are always going to be light hearted affairs, of course, which may not appeal to the hardcore sci-fi fans.

Rise of the Cybermen was given a publicity hit which resulted in high viewing figures. There was never any desire for secrecy, only tension. After all, that it is Cybermen is revealed in the first 30 seconds.

Fan-wise, The Girl in the Fireplace scored extremely highly for the season, far more than the Cybermen stories, which got a very mixed reaction.

I'm really not convinced about this thing about the Bride spoiling the atmosphere- it was getting overly melodramatic, if anything. It gave a fair enough lead-in.

It was hardly Daleks vs. Cybermen, anyway- it was incredibly sophisticated Daleks vs. incredibly primitive (Earth 21st century, even if alternate) Cybermen. That's not the grand clash of fan dreams.
