The curse of the Time Lord is not in that you travel alone, but in that others cannot share your life with you, because they are mortal. Very Lord of the Rings, yes? The Doctor never returned to SJS because he understands he has to move on, else he will become entangled in watching his friends slowly die, and not even he can take that.

IF it is true- big if- the most likely reason would be flashbacks, I would have thought.
Or other sci-fi stuff. After all, Adric appeared in the episode after he died, in illusiory form.
Here's a good question, was the Doctor responsible for the death of the Time Lords? Remember the Time Lords feared the Daleks would become even more powerful than the Time Lords. In the Tom Baker story (Genesis of the Daleks) the Time Lords sent the Doctor to Skyro at a point in time where the Daleks were just coming into being; his orders were to destroy the Daleks, once and for all. But the doctor chose not too and the result was the time war, what do you think of that one.

Actually, the Time Lords' fear was not specifically the Daleks growing more powerful than they, it was simply the Dalkes becoming the dominant life form.
And yes, RTD is well aware of this. The Doctor refuses to destroy the Daleks on moral grounds- but eventually they destroy his race and then the Doctor DOES destroy them.
Hence the 'battle scarred' Ninth Doctor.
That is clearly impossible because no one has ever saw what happened in the Time War, that is right isn't it? That wasn't shown? I don't think so anyway so even if we were to guess, we could not say. This is a war between Daleks & Time Lords, two alien races, along with the Autons (sort of) who's home planet was detroyed in that war. Quote by ninth Doctor (roughly) - I couldn't save your planet, it wasn't my fault.

Even so, he could have stayed with each assistant for a bit longer; afterall he did ask Sarah Jane to travel with them again, even though he left her behind for that reason, or was it another reason & that's why he thought it was okay to have her back for a little while longer? It's all so complacating isn't it...
A question from me. I've saw this picture twice in black & white with a woman sitting down while there are Cybermen standing behind her ready to kill (I'm guessing anyway.) Can anyone tell me if it was one of The Doctor's assistants who died?
I know someone died due to the Cybermen & people were upset about it (I have no idea though) so I was wondering it was her. I don't even have a name though. She looks like she's typing or looking at something on a desk. It's in black & white so it's an old versain of Doctor Who, probably the first ever!

That is because that very episode changed the Doctor's perception of it a little- he had never had to confront an abandoned companion before (and this is specifically powerful with SJS who didn't actually want to leave the TARDIS. To be fair, The Doctor didn't simply abandon her spontaneously- he had received a call to return to Gallifrey and he could not take anyone with him).
So he makes the offer, which was sweet.
The dead companion was maths genius Adric, not a woman.
The Time War was between the Time Lords and the Daleks. They are the sides. But as the Gelth explained in The Unquiet Dead the war was devastating to higher life forms. They lost their home, the Nestene (Autons) lost theirs... it was clearly a very big 'battlefield'.
RTD wouldn't want that, for sure. Though he is also sure that 'someone' will bring back the Master at some point, he gives a clear impression that it is not on his priority list.
Besides- it would detract from the menace of the Daleks, to have someone else behind them. They don't need anyone else behind them- they are the quintessential Doctor Who bad guy.
My thoughts are about the upcoming series or maybe the Chrismas episode, Run Away Bride. The Face of Boe said The Doctor & himself would meet up again for the last time, either at xmas or next year. My friend said (kaz larner, who's posted here a few times) that he might say something about The Doctor's child. She could be right because he did say he use to be a dad, but after saying that, you can't just leave it at that, we wanna know!!!
He said use to so I'm guessing he/she probably died in the Time War, or thought to have been, but maybe still alive out there. In here somewhere or in another Doctor Who thread, I heard about a women Time Lord who was in E-Space or something (I don't know!) so probably still alive too, so maybe this child is out there too in another part of space. Maybe The Doctor was able to save him/her but then got seperated...I wonder....
I'm very excited indeed & a Doctor Who addict! It's like smoking but much healthier for you, lol! 😆 To prove this I got the David Tennant figure in long brown coat & a big Cybermen poster, which still needs to be put up somewhere. I can't put it on my door like I wanted because it's already full with Doctor Who posters & stickers!
I also plan to get the bed set, Sonic Screwdriver, t-shirts, more posters, novals, backpack & alarm clock! ✅ I think some should wait until xmas though, otherwise I'll have to pay my mum back loads! 😖hock:
True, they can tease us with loads of facts we want to know. It doesn't make sense, so it's okay to do it. No it's not, we want to know the facts Doctor Who team!

Susan satyed behind on 22nd century Earth just after the Dalek occupation, to shack uop with some guy she only just met (a not uncommon exit for Doctor Who companions).
But again, as the Doctor is certain his race is dead and is unlikely to forget Susan, she is either not really a Time Lady, or he knows she is dead too (relatively speaking, of course)
(and what I mean by relatively speaking... there is an implication in the first series Episode The End of the World that the Doctor cannot go back into his world's past and see it whole again, as he takes Rose back from the Earth's destruction back to her time. It has long been a fan theory that Gallifrey itself cannot be time travelled on, and that all Time Lords live in a sort of time frame of their own, so that even though they time travel around all the time, if you meet a Time Lord it will always be after the last time you met him, for both of you. Heck of a lot simpler when writing stories, that... anyway, point is, as he knows he left Susan on Earth, it is possible to go and see her before she died, whatever killed her.)
