Saturday comes a long, like it does every week. Doctor Who on at 7. There's me, been waiting all week for it. Then... I get told, yes told, to go pick up my sister... at half 7! I said I would before I rememebered about the Doctor! Eek! I wasn't very happy with myself, or my mum for that matter. So I decided I would miss the whole episode rather than miss half hour of it. So that leads to Sunday. Says it was on at 7, just like Saturday, but wasn't on until 10! so I had to wait even longer. (what a weekend I have had).Anyway 10 o'clock finally comes round and I lay promped up on my bed and finally watching the last episode of Dr Who (until Christmas... oh what is it with the waiting!?). And I must say I am very happy with the way it ended. Daleks and Cybermen! Woo! Poor Cybermen, didn't stand a chance. I kinda felt disappointed that Rose didn't actually die, but I'm happy she survived. I really liked that episode actually. I'll let you into a secret... I nearly cried, only because I could see the Doctor welling up. Awww. When Billie cries on-screen I can feel myself starting to. She's more convincing with her acting than her music, lets face it. And that was a bit annoying yet sad, when the Doctor was going to say his final words to Rose, which were 'I love you'. But time was up for the ol' Doc. Aww. Anyway enough 'aww's'. The bit with Catherine Tate broke the mood, but was kinda good. Didn't want us feeling sad until Christmas did you. So I liked the idea of her and her lightening the mood.
Well I don't know what to say now so I will call my little comment to an end. Until Christmas! Let's hope its better than the less than average Christmas episode from last year. [shudder]
Oh at last we know what those 3D glasses are. That was kinda bugging me actually.
Anyway I'm going to dress up as David and make my sister look like Billie now. So as I said... until Christmas.
Ta ta. 😉
My mum had to watch the repeat at 10 as well so we watched it together, even though I already watched it! Hey, I don't care, I'll watch it again because it's great! 😄 Anyway I did cry, strange thing was though I cried more the second time of watching it! 😆 Funny huh? I was also sort of dissapointed Rose didn't die but glad she didn't. It's the thought of knowing she was gonna die, like she said time after time, "This is the story of how I died," yet she didn't. Didn't like the 'just in time' rescue though, I hate them!
It was cruel when The Doctor didn't have time to say his last words, that was the saddest thing I ever saw & very touching. David Tennant is a good actor if he was able to make himself cry because it is usual men who don't cry as often as women, so that was good, thumbs up David! 😉 Well done!
Didn't like the bride scene either, ruined the whole show! I hope they release that putting that in was a mistake & will learn next time. It was a sad story, coming to an end & should have stayed sad, not liven it up with a "Where am I?" "Who are you?" & "What the hell's this place!?" & the constant "What?" from the Doctor..
Those glasses also riddled my brain, not bugging me exactly but wondering what they were for...anyway, xmas will be here soon so yay, can't wait!! 💃

The last fifteen minutes of The Christmas Invasion were very good indeed, it was only the build up that did not work. The Christmas episodes are always going to be light hearted affairs, of course, which may not appeal to the hardcore sci-fi fans.Rise of the Cybermen was given a publicity hit which resulted in high viewing figures. There was never any desire for secrecy, only tension. After all, that it is Cybermen is revealed in the first 30 seconds.
Fan-wise, The Girl in the Fireplace scored extremely highly for the season, far more than the Cybermen stories, which got a very mixed reaction.

I think the scene with Catherine Tate at the end was to keep us wanting more. A cliff hanger is always good. Gets the old blood pumping round my youthful body. 👀
Agreed. I liked the bit at the end, I just wanted her to say: "What, a f**king liberty" xP 😉
Catherine Tate AND Peter Kay. What more do you want? (Other than Palpatine making a guest appearance xD)
I read somewhere that some people (obviously not true fans) are saying that Doctor who's going downhill, and just trying to get back up by using washed-up comedians to bring figures up. WELL I SAY THEY'RE WRONG! Doctor Who is brilliant, and always will be. And Peter Kay and Catherine Tate aren't washed up either, they're really funny!
Hey, did anyone else know that the reason David Tennant and Billie Piper weren't in the Absorbaloff's episode very much is because it was filmed at the same time as 'The Impossible Planet' and 'The Satan Pit'? And they took too long to film.
Doc Who has done well around the world but none of the major US networks picked it up (unlike Canada, Australia and even, I believe, France).
That is actually quite odd seeing as Classic Who had quite a US following. Anyway, as it is, it is showing on the sci-fi channel in the US, where it is being advert butchered, of course. All in all, the US is missing out.
As for Love and Monsters- yes, there is normally an episode each year where the regulars get a bit of a rest. It was The Long Game last year, which had Bruno Langley doing a lot of the work instead.
Worth noting that TLG was generally considered the worst of last years episodes, so now the 'rest' episode is getting a cursed reputation.

Interesting to read that, shows of this kind rely on viewing figures here and abroad which dictates how well the show is doing. I know that Dr Who is at the top of the Drama top ten here in England, just wondering the viewing figures from around the world how's it doing?

Where they're also a full year behind, having just finished up the Ninth Doctor episodes a couple weeks ago.
Annoying.
I was doing my daily Doctor Who round on the internet and I came across this site.
I don't know if anyone has seen it before, it is rather interesting. For example....

How does she return though? She's stuck on a parallel Earth! I'd like The Doctor & Rose to actually see each other again. What got my head wizzing with questions is even though Mickey decided to stay of parallel after the episode Age of Steel, The Doctor said when they would leave they'd never see each other again.
True, but remember when Rose rang her mum in the second episode of the first series while she was in the year 5 billion & in space? If she can do that, then possibly she could still ring Mickey when he was in that world.
But it is another universe. Even though Rose rang her mum at the year 5 billion, they were still in the same universe so that could complicate things.
Why didn't Sarah Jane decide to leave with The Doctor when she was asked? You'd think she would've done. I would, lol! He never visited either but why? Surely he could've done once! He also said to Rose that he can't stop by or something like this so couldn't visit at all because he said he can't stop & has to keep going.
Also (while I'm at it) he said it's the curse of being a Time Lord; to travel alone, but he takes women on his ship so he's not alone.
