Official Doctor Who Thread

i dunno but having a new Doctor carry 3 specials after DTs impact sounds a gamble
its highly likely hes going to go with RTD after the specials
a clean slate for Moffat as stated
bought 22 back issues of DWM today and again Moffat has some interesting things to say about what hed do with the Doctor
mind you the mags are maybe 10 years old...people change

the sound of drums were slightly different - the Who theme
that tonight was just a heartbeat
maybe not an ordinary heart beating though

David Morrisey isnt my idea of a good replacement either, that would just be terrible. Why do you bring his name up?

i think someone needs to edit that post of mine as ive posted a rumour regarding a bit of confusion about a confirmed cast member and the part he plays in a future episode that i thought was very old news

Ah isn't that Morrisey in the

Spoiler:
Christmas special
, just remembered something like that.

Same here.

When the Dalek hit him, didn't only one side of him go negative. Perhaps the regeneration will just heal the scrambled side of his body.

Interesting to note that Davros and the Emperor Dalek were working together in the Time War...unless Davros died at the start and the Emperor took over...

That was... wow.

Good to see Harriet again!

The Supreme Dalek was surprisingly individual, and Caan... hee. Something about him just struck a chord with me. I giggled insanely at him once or twice.

While he didn't have too much time to make a strong impression, I liked what we've seen of Davros. The finger drumming was a nice touch, and the chest...

I am both anticipating and dreading what the regeneration will lead to in the next episode...

To be honest, I wasn't very impressed though I did watch it at 4 o'clock on BBC's Iplayer.

The Supreme Dalek and Davros are already in conflict it seems, and Davvy did hint at the Supremes individuality so perhaps we will see a resurgence of the Factions again.

However, it seems Davros has overcome the "you are not a Dalek" problem he encountered in Genesis

Spoiler:
by making all the Daleks his clones.

Indeed, the Daleks were impressive. However, the rest of the episode was abit of a letdown. Plus SHE is back and it seems has had no acting lessons since season two...

The immortal bisexual crusader also returns with his wooden companions. Never added anything to the story...Torchwood should be canceled.

Ms. Jones is always a delight, however anyone else note how we never saw her extermination- just the turn of a Dalek gun and then the camera going off

Spoiler:
could it be that they simply destroyed her computer and she is going to become a Dalek after all?

Sarah Jayne...where was K9??? She was very good as ever, her fate will be interesting...

Good to see Martha back...

Over all, a very mediocre episode, however it served its purpose of setting the scene and introduced quite a lot in a small time frame, so very well achieved on that score.

Spoiler:
I suspect there will be no regeneration, however its about time for the Doctor to be played by someone a bit older- Stephen Fry perhaps ( 😆 )

Very mediocre episode?! it's one of the best episodes of the series so far, dread to think what you thought about the rest of the series before then...

Sarah Jane...where was K9??? She was very good as ever, her fate will be interesting...

She has the second series of Sarah Janes Adventures to come so nothing like death will happen to her... also K9 is in some black hole area, didn't quite catch it in the Adventures series...

No it shouldn't, season 2 picked up a lot from the first season and the last episode definitely was very well done and some good acting in for such a show. The two best actors have gone yes, but the others are not too bad that it makes it completely rubbish.

You don't have to put up with it for long for Season 3 as there are only going to be five episodes for season 3 next time it's on. I think with one long running storyline I believe.

Good to see Martha back...

Now that IS a wooden actress. Piper is so much better in the acting department.

Yeah, no, Torchwood shouldn't be canceled. The first season was meh but the second was excellent.

And I think with the case of Martha it's more a case of simply bad writing. They've handled her character very poorly this season, but, say, in Torchwood? She was great.

Anyway, my thoughts about this epispode right now are mainly just "...ahhhhhhh!" Damn that cliffhanger!

The Daleks definitely brought the scare that they were meant to! In "Evolution of the Daleks," I never felt that feeling of "Oh shit, Daleks" that you're supposed to get. This one delivered. I knew what was coming but the Daleks just seemed much more sinister this time around.

Rose is less useless!

Yes, yay for non-useless Rose!

I laughed at her getting all jealous, though...

this was by far one of the best...tbh i never found it cramped i think it flowed well, and it does exactly what it's supposed to do which is build up to the grand finale of season 4

Jealous, but she found the Doctor in the end, and not Martha 🙂

I liked the adipose episode...and the Turn Left episode was good too i think...the rest...well, I'll leave you to figure that one out.

I wonder, if she will play her death...as an actress it may be something she wants to do, kill of her now well institutionalized character...if not this series then in the near future.

I was annoyed by the fact that the entire series was dedicated to sex in some form or other...is that really how Russel T Davis sees the world?

I have, no comment

Um, it's not entirely dedicated to sex at all, Gav. It certainly has a great deal to do with human interactions, and sex just happens to fall under that category and so shows up.

And I would hope that RTD doesn't actually see the world as he portrays it in Torchwood. That would be worrying, because it would mean he sees aliens... ha ha ha.

Would certainly add an interesting dynamic to the word of BBC Wales...

I always enjoyed the Dead Ringers spoof.

Captain Jack: What do we know about the alien lifeform?
Aide: All we know from the readings so far is that its, horny horny horny...so horny, horny horny horny tonight."

Captain Jack: We only do sexy aliens one of us have sh**ged in the past.

Your complaints would have more weight if you did your research right; Chris Chibnall was lead writer on Torchwood, not RTD.

Forgive me for interrupting your conversation, but I just started getting into Doctor Who, and I'm watching it on-line so I'm a little behind you guys. I just got finished with "Forest of the Dead"....does River Song become important to the overall mythos of the show now? Are they going to be referencing her in upcoming episodes and in the future?

the River Song story may not be resolved for another 40 years so i doubt itll be for a few regenerations yet
a lot of people are a bit impatient how her story pans out
