USH'S LORD OF THE RINGS GAME PART 3- The Tournament and the Traitor

Oh, and I'm up for a practise duel too!

The Princes are. Palidan was ruling out some people.

I ruled out people that would have to be REALLY subversive. People we don't need to suspect, but if pickings start getting slim, we'll look to them.

You did include the King though!

oops, that was a mistake then.
I just went down your list, and the last names were under "other Lords on the Ruling council"

Err, I can only assume you made a copy/paste error there, tpt!

Yea probably,
no big deal..

Well , in answer to the general question, no, there has been no reason to rule out Morsire as of yet.

In fact, no-one has been literally tuled out. It would be very hard for Farael or Gorlim to do it as they were absent for crucial pointa and would have been trying to kill themselves as well (though as Gorlim pointed out as a kind of joke, it could be both of them at it, in which case making sure one of them is absent at a crucal time is a good way to look innocent).

Gorlim himself refuses to believe the Princes could be implicated, first of all on grounds tht it is too horrifying to contemplate, and secondly because he can;t see what would be in it for them- they could hardly get a better deal than they have, being Princes. But there is no game-presented reason why it is not one of them.

Likewise for the King, but that is REALLY stretching it. I think the fact he has asked you to find the traitor probably rules him out.

An introduction to the group through a duel with Darvan?

Challenge me... 😛

well I wanna start with the more blatent first, just so we don't go running off at false conspiracies...
(That actually sounds rather good Darvan...Seems to me as a nice way to play it out)

Very well - consider yourself challenged! 😱

In character, man. Gotta get yourself introduced. Darvan's already in the training halls.

Look back a cupla pages to see what's going on.

(I thought we were skipping all the introduction stuff)

I am Menelacar of Gondor - I believe you knew my predecessor, Aranui. I plan to enter the Tournament and am looking for opponents with which to practise - will you accept my challenge?

"My lord," Darvan says with a bow, "I would be grateful to practise with one such as yourself."

And... Ush?

(Just so all our characters are happy friendly - Ush suggested you might want to RP the introduction a coupla pages back.)

"I look forward to getting better acquainted with you all," replies Menelacar, "but only after I have tested myself against my first Elf."

Menelacar brings his sword up to his face in salute, and signals his intention to begin by a swift strike through the air down and to his right.

"Let us begin."

(I think I've got the gist of the combat malarky - I guess we'll find out shortly!)

T wana go and interview a few ppl together?

Just to check- is this a fencing match or an out and out barney? IF the first, it uses the special rules from before, in which case you have to PM me, blah blah blah. If not, you just declare your offensive/defrnsive split.

Brave, Menelacar! Darvan is well-practiced...

(I asked if you wanted to RP out a meeting, but if people are happy to just move forwards then that is fine by me!)

Argentis is itchy to go do detective work I see. Palidan- want to go with the horseman?

Fencing I guess - that is what the Tournament rules will be, won't it? (or have I got the wrong end of the sick?)

you already chose your category?

Is there a limit to the number of competitions you can enter? I need to build my character up, so I'll be looking to enter as many as possible for the XP! Definitely Swordsmanship, the Joust, Riddling Contest and Melee(s). I'll even have a bash at the others if allowed.
