USH'S LORD OF THE RINGS GAME PART 3- The Tournament and the Traitor

Well, Halatir is watching those of you that are there... what is it going to be? These things tend to run on forever, so I will give it a day maximum and then force the issue according to what I interpret is the prevailing wind.

In fact, I might start doing this a lot in all my RPs so that we keep momentum.

Looks like it's just me and you then Trick!

A-ha! That sounds like a challenge!

In that case, I need your PMed move, Darvan.

Hold up. We're fighting? (sorry, been kind under the influence of Vicodin for a little while).

Practising only, for the Tournament - kind of a jousting competition, amongst other things. The list of competitions is a few pages back.

I know about the tournament, just was wondering about what was happening now. Thanks for filling me in.

Ok! Darvan and Menelacar begin their duel by sizing each other up...

Just to remind people, these specialised fencing duels have a Power/Classic/Outflank 'triangle of power' to them, and outguessing your foe gives a +25 bonus.

Your basic skill is (One Handed Edged/2) + Agility Bonus (good for Elves!)

Darvan's skill, with Lightning Reflexes, is 45, with a defence score of 20.

Menelacar's scores are 27 and 10. This despite being very comparable to Darvan in a straight fight; Elves just have the fencing edge!

First to score ten points of 'damage' scores a hit. Best of five hits scores a Game, best of three games for a Match.

Opening moves are:

Darvan: 0/Power
Menelacar: 0/Classic

Darvan's 25 bonus for the correct guess makes that round an easy one for him! First hit to Darvan.

Warily, you may study each other for your next attempts...

I'll approach him.
"Greetings," *bows* "My name is Palidan, and this is Horsemaster Argentis."

"Yes, I know the horseman," says Halatir. "You were at Baranar as well, yes?"

"Indeed I was."

"Then you did us a service. Not something we often see from the Elves in these days."

Darvan takes a step back, "So, my lord, what brings you so far from Gondor?"

You can say that after your second clash... which has the same decisions from both sides as the first one!

And hence Darvan hits again... 2 - 0 to Darvan!

"I am here provide a degree of counsel; advice; presence to Arthedain on behalf of Gondor. My lord - you are a gifted swordsman!"

A-ha! An inversion! Mithlon reads right this time, and gets a Power vs. Darvan's Classic.

Still, Darvan's high defence gives issues, and Mithlond's roll is not quite enough to score a hit. He's very close though! Youir swords clash...

Still 2-0 to Darvan.

Kelvar steps back from the fight and sits on a nearby barrel. "Hey, Gondor, Get your act to together or Darvan's goin' to knock back to where you belong!"

"So I have been told. I fear, however, that I will meet more than my match in the days to come."

"Not in the next few minutes - it appears my sword arm has been afflicted by the Witch-King himself today..."

Classic meets Classic! A fair exhange of arms, but actually Menelacar rolls higher on the roll!

Having led from the blow before, that is actually a blow to Menelacar!

2-1 to Darvan...

A-ha! Gondorian pride is not completely lost...

"So, my lord, what brings such a diverse group as yourselves together? Is it solely for the Tournament?"
