USH'S LORD OF THE RINGS GAME PART 3- The Tournament and the Traitor

Started by Captain REX132 pages

"This shouldn't be difficult for me," Talin grumbles to himself, holding up the large rock. "I have worked in the mines of Kazad-dum! Those rocks are significantly heavier than these..."

Talin will make another effort to dash forward.

Looks like they are taking his command as given, Gwil- they burn it at a torch.

---

And so we struggle on!

57 from Talin

15 from a somewhat unsteady Menelacar

50 from Anglomir

16 from Bjorstrad

And an 11 from Marcus. Not much help all around; next!

01 from Talin! The lowest roll possible! Rock down and he misses two rounds!

09 from Menelacar is also a fumble. Sheesh!

44 from Anglomir; still just one step at a time there.

29 from Bjorstrad.

But 92 from Marcus! He's into his stride!

Let's keep going.

Talin and Menelacar are recovering.

11 from Anglomir just misses the fumble...

55 from Bjorstrad

22 from Marcus.

And again...

Talin gets his rock back up.

84 from Menelacar! He's going for the win!

65 from Talin, afraid not.

87 from Anglomir- he moves on!

75 from Bjorstrad, he goes on too!

17 from Marcus, nothing.

Leaving us like this:

Menelacar: 4 out of 5

Bjorstrad: 3 out of 5 (Missed one from last update, sorry)

Anglomir: 2 out of 5

Marcus: 2 out of 5.

Talin: 1 out of 3

"Men-el-a-car! Men-el-a-car!" shout the crowd as they go wild for the young Gondorian....

Talin is doing absolutely dreadfully...

A change of tactics, I think. The Dwarf will attempt a slower tactic, seeing as his attempt at quickly finishing is failing terribly.

Nothing more to be seen here, then.

With our victim being a Dunadan, does the name Erathran sound familiar at all?

He's not super-famous or a mighty Lord or anything like that, no.

Then it seems we've got some digging to do.

I don't suppose Arnor has some sort of public records building in which we could search for his name?

Otherwise, asking around at a pub might be best.

Well actually yes it does, though 'public' may be the misnomer as it is not open to everyone.

Is that the heritage library that Menelacar was using?

Indeed yes, the Heraldic Library.

---

Back to the stone race!

A 96 from Talin... means that he's chosen the worst possible moment to switch as he would have advanced. As it is, he is nw on 2 out of five rather than out of three.

An 11 from Menelacar- near but so far!

92 from Anglomir! He moves on!

50 from Bjorstrad, no result.

And a 35 from Marcus

And again...

74 from Talin does at least move him forwards.

15 from Menelacar does not

Nor a 29 from Anglomir

A 71 from Bjorstrad does! He's making a victory run!

And a straight 100 from Marcus! On he goes!

And once more...

40 from Talin, nope.

75 from Menelacar! He's there!

75 from Anglomir, he moves on!

18 from Bjorstrad seals victory for Menelacar

And Marcus rolls a 3 and drops it. Doh!

Well, Menelacar is over the line- now just the rest of the placings to play for...

Menelacar: 5 out of 5

Bjorstrad: 4 out of 5

Anglomir: 4 out of 5

Talin: 3 out of 5

Marcus: 2 out of 5.

Well, then let`s go to the library...

It's not public!

Woooo! 'The Biceps from Belfalas', I believe is what they call me now...
And I can go to the library after the event if needed. I was going to talk to the Princess, but is that still on the agenda?

Do we wish to see who comes second out of Anglomir and Bjorstrad? or maybe even Talin will make a sudden late run!

Go for it!

Come on, gotta win this one for the Dwarves...

Rolls:

71 for Talin is a success!

12 for Anglomir is not.

Nor a 33 for Bjorstrad

Nor a 60 from Marcus

And again...

15 from Talin; nope.

46 from Anglomir; nope.

01 from Bjorstrad! Double turn drop! Now is your chance!

66 from Marcus; no.

And again

21 from Talin; no.

78 from Anglomir! He has doine it Across the line in second!

04 from Marcus, Fumble!

Talin is left clear for third! Good result for the players!

Event is over. Menelacar scores 10, Anglomir six, Talin 4 and Bjoprstrad 2.

Which makes the results after two events:

Bjorstrad: 12

Anglomir: 12

Menelacar: 10

Talin: 8

Marcus: 2

Anglormir showing a very strong result there on inferior stats... well, MERP has a wide random chance involved.

Next event... the Throw!

What pitches needed for this one?

Well, the Throw is all about Strength and Dexterity- no Constitution.

The Strength roll is flat regardless. the Dexterity is for your run up- short, medium or long. The longer the run-up, the more likely you are to go over the line, but the better your throw will be. Dex does the run up, Strength the throw. Three throws, longest anyone gets out of their three wins!

Long run please!
