"This may be true, but I feel the risk for him may still be too great."

"It may, or it may not if he is under the influence of the Witch-King. Either way, what should our next steps be? Shall I visit the Princess perhaps with you, Master Dwarf, as you have saved her life before. Perhaps she could shed light on the relationship between Elendur and Annuneryn."

"Perhaps. I will accompany you, then, Master Gondorian."

"As will I, Menelacar," Anglomir says. "I too was present at the battle in which we delayed the Orcs until reinforcements were brought."

"Indeed, Anglomir, I took it as read you would!"

Welll, then a plan is coming together!

But the Joust is sttarting very soon- and it so happens that this is the event the Princess wil be at attendance at, for the prize to the victor is her favour., Purely ceremoinal, of course, but enough to make it a prize worth winning to many.

One of the Lords is taking part in the Joust also...

Sorry, how much Elladil knows of these plans at this point?

As much as the others want to involve you, I guess.

Which Lord is jousting?
And I will go with the goal of talking to some of the nobles, as I am the chatty type.
I need a plan of action though, I will think up one.

Elladil and the others should know about as much as Menelacar just stated, that we are trying to expose a traitor to the crown at that what you have found with the Prince may be a reason for him to be the traitor.

Well, Menelacar will be jousting! He is a Gondorian noble, of course, and as his descendants will eventually become the Knights of Dol Amroth, he should do well!

Famous last words of course....

Excellent!

It is Annuneryn who is jousting.

Talin will be sure to secure a seat in the audience near the nobility seating, since he likely is not considered an honored guest enough to score some prime seats next to the Princess being an unsightly Dwarf.

That's entirely fair enough.

So, Menelacar is in, can I just check if anyone else is? To save time, we'll start with there being eight contestants remaining, on an elimination basis. Best of 3 wins, you score for a dismounting of the opponent.

Talin will delegate watching for Annuneryn to pull anything dirty during the joust to Anglomir (who I will prod into being present), but the Dwarf himself will watch the crowd for anything unusual, simply because Annuneryn is suspect to our mission.

Then the contest shall begin!

Menelacar has three relevant values here.

A Polearms score of 25

A Riding (when on horse) skill of 35.

And A Defence of 5.

On each pass, you roll both skills against a difficulty of 50, suntracting your opponent's Defence from your totall success. you must have a total of success of fifty more than your opponent to unseat him; first to two unseatings wins the knockout!

For Gondor then!

Do I need to make any choices in the joust?

(Btw how do those stats compare generally?)

Other than Defence, which is a rare commodity, not brilliant, though certainly better than average.

And just down to the rolls, this one...

Ah, well, Menelacar is but a young pup and still needs practise...

Gwilwileth decides that her time is better spent doing something rather than watching the competetive events. She will try to find out more about Erathran; his name may not be in the records, but it may be in the minds of people.

She will try her luck, splitting off from her companions and telling them she will meet back up with them later, by heading to a local pub, possibly near the Tournament.
