USH'S LORD OF THE RINGS GAME PART 3- The Tournament and the Traitor

Started by Lord Melkor132 pages

Elladil will look for a scholarly noble who is not that much interested by the joust, and would be interested in elfs.

But one not so uninterested as to not be at the Joust, you mean, or one elsewhere?

Maybe one at the Joust, but not captivated enough so that he can discuss stuff with Elladil.

Okidokey, after Paul's second run I'll make a roll to see how you do there...

Gondor's class always shows!

Wasn't Morsire the one who really didn't like us at all?

That's the one! Doesn't like Elves, either.

-

Menelacar goes for his second round...

65 and 26... not so good! Final socre of 41.

His foes rolls... 46 and 81 for a score of 107... success... ahhj!

Menelacae goes down! The match is at one alll!

-

And yes, Elladil, you seem to have found a slightly bored looking noble there...

Menelacar dusts himself down, then cricks his neck from side to side.

"Bugger" he says.

He then climbs back on his horse. This ancestor of the knights of Dol Amroth is not done yet!

Hmm... I suppose it is easy for a leader of men to dislike the Elves who have declined so much help to his people... but hating all of us? Suspicious, that.

I think Will should go have a chat with him, and bring back-up...

Off to see Morsire, eh? He'll be around the palace somewhere; he is not at the Joust.

-

As Menelacar prepares for this third go, Farael has actually started talking to the person Menelacar defeated last round.

Mmm, he was acommon man, a rider in the kings army...

"How odd! That Lord Morsire fellow does not seem at all the type for a good time!" William says. "Very strange!"

William will inquire if anyone else was normally spotted with the Prince and if they did anything notable together (and whether or not they were actually any fun at all).

Then he will return the men to their good humors, bringing the spirits of the drinking back to song and laughter.

Yes, they were quite boistrous, but they didn't associate with common men, so other than spending their time in the nightlife there was nothing of particular note.

-

Third round is go! Menelacar scores 72, his opponent, 85... draw! A clash but neither side drops, a gasp from the crowd!

"Greetings, my Lord. May an elven guest from Rivendell sit with you?"

Menelacar turns round once more for what he hopes will be the winning run.

Talin, being a short and innocuous dwarf, will see if he can edge in on what Farael is saying to the common rider that Menelacar struck down...

Well, was there anything of un-particular note, then? That sounded terribly much like a hint...

He would be delighted to speak with an Elf, Elladil! You made a good Presence roll there... which Elves are always good at, of course.

-

Farael is inviting him to join a new personal guard he is forming, Talin!

-

Well, they mentioned what was of unparticular note, William my lad! The information you want is there (this is a hint!) but hard for you to see it as it is without some corroboration. You do have this info that some of the Dunedain nobles 'enjoy' the nightlife and it includes two very important people- Morsire and Prince Elendur. NOT something that people would want shouted around the place in polite society. Lacking a tabloid press and the like, it really only is tavern rumour; it would be a scandal if it truly came out.

-

Menelacar's foe beats him again... but only by 32! Draw again! Tension raises still further!

Elladil will satisfy the Noble`s curiosity by telling him about the life in Rivendell. In exchange he will ask about the dead Dunedain, shocked that such things can happen here.

Ooohhh...... say the crowd!
