Evange's Amalgam Tournament Announcement: Roster and Scheduling

Your about a month late armando... And when the hell is the next round starting? Are we feeling the wrath of Evangel cuz of the time complaints?

Mhm, I think we are.

Scoob has mentioned maybe starting up another after this one finishes, with similar rules to the current tourney. It'd have 16 people instead of 10, so a lot more people would be able to join if they're interested (16 Teams?!?! It's kinda mind-boggling.). And say what you will about the speed of the tourney, but Evangel set up some nice, fair rules about the whole thing...so we have a decent basis for the start of another.

And have faith...it'll end soon. Me vs Khell is already up (come vote by the way...preferably for me, but voting at all is a plus), and only 2 matches to go after that one.

And WOOO! I made the "Final Four". Technically, it's the Final Five with this tournament set-up, but I like to make it sound as good as possible. The goal was just to win Round 1...with that done, I'm happy regardless of how my fight turns out (though winning is always good).

Well...I picked one of them (Apollo) and Quick Freeze started me off with some good ones (I particularly like Loki...even though I'm not terribly faimilar with him). But thanks. I'm looking forward to picking my own combo of three...fortunately I have a few good ones that don't involves magic in any way.

i was thinking more along the lines of no spells ... the sort of thing where its all guess work as to how strong it is.... no telepathy either.... make it all more physical

No telepathy or magic, eh? That's one helluva brawler-type tournament. If it happens, count me in.

Mjolnir and SB are weapons that are magically-imbued..... it can cast spells such as weather, lightning, etc..

Using the weapon to bash and pummel is Ok, but NO using its magicaly-imbued powers

Anyway to keep it near street level?
Something where the characters are all around Sabretooth's level.

I had thought about street-level, but to be honest I kinda like the herald or below rules. Street level is hard to determine, and many people would be argued about. Herald is a more generally-accepted power level, and naturally makes a good cut-off point. Still, I'd be happy either way...it would require more work for whoever does the tourney, but street would work fine.

I also don't mind if there's no magic/telepathy/etc. After having a character with Loki involved, most of my possible ideas for amalgams went the other direction and don't have much magic to speak of anyway.

I was thinking of 40 ton or below strength.
No uber speedters, i.e Flash.
No magicals, i.e Strange, zatanna, loki.
No telepathy, i.e prof x, jean grey.

I have many tournaments laid out with extensive rules and planning. A street level tournament is currently one of them I have on the back burner all planned out but with no set date on which I plan to host it. Perhaps I could work with someone to co-host it? I know hosting a tournament in general by yourself can be sometimes be too much and very time demanding.

It's harder than it looks I'm sure. That's why we ***** and moan, cuz we ain't the ones doing all the scheduling. 😄

yeah... i was thinking street level.... well actually, powerful street level (to use the phrasing from Scarlet Spider's tournament).... that cuts off around Spiderman villain level (i would have said Spider-Man but his villains are usually a little more powerful)

Damn, so I can't have my Kurse/Juggernaut/Shaggy Man combo...
