not everyone has battled the spectre! can't judge her as you would a 'normal' person scoobs. a normal person would die of fright on seeing the spectre. your criterion are off.

i know...... but as she still has her own mind and none of Binary's experience at cosmic battling she can't be sure of herself...... the flash from Surfers attack alone would cause her to react to defend herself.... which would break her concentration

Just like Bishops body absorbs kenetic energy.....no thought involved here. Just bodily reflex.

Give any fighter i.e Zantanna 2hrs with a new body, she will push it as far as it will go. ANYONE would realize "wow, i can lift this 80 ton weight!" the first 30 seconds they had the body!.
The next thing a fighter would do is test its durability, which is very easy to do.
I'd say she would be hesitant to go into SS head on, but liike i said....she doesnt HAVE to take punches! She can go INTO the fight with a forcefield.

If she's getting wailed in the face, the words ain't gonna come out right. Not only that, but taking a surfboard in the gut at near lightspeed could have about the same effect as a kidney punch.

Bishop doesn't absorb energy automaticly, otherwise he wouldn't be able to be k.o.ed physicly. He has to know where the attack is comig fron and be ready for it, that's why he's been put down by attacks from behind. (Rogues do it from behind XD... WoW joke...)

Zatanna's done plenty of things, and I don't doubt her ability to stop the Silver Surfer, but this is the Incredible Destruction Surfer, a being who's physical might is rivaled by none in this tournament. You're talking about Surfer, Hulk and Damage here people.... How is a person who is twice as strong as another NOT likely to K.O. them easily? My character's physical strength is just going to increase as the fight goes on. When Surfer starts swinging, his fight or flight system is goign to start pumping adrenaline. That triggers Hulk and Damage's powers, thus increasing his strength massively.

I'd like to see Binary take a haymaker and keep casting. You ever get punched in the face? No matter what you're doing, how well trained you are, you will lose your concentration. The entire world shifts when you take a heavy one to the dome, trust me, I know. She isn't going to still be thinking straight after getting wailed on several times, or after attempting to keep up to an enemy faster than any she's ever fought before. Add to the fact that Surfer can use a psionic blast to further discombobulate her and I'm certain she won't be getting her spells off.

Zatanna has the ability to do anything, if she can have the time to concentrate. Getting metal thrown at you and getting your face beat to shit are two completely different things.

i know.... but Zatanna has little to no experience with this and there's no way her reactions are changing after one hour of prep.... it's the percieved danger rather than the actual danger that i am saying will cause her to "flinch"

The first thing any fighter would do with a new body is TEST TEST TEST.
speed and strength are the easiest to test, followed by durability.

Hulk's busted down forcefields, and that won't protect her from a psionic attack. Zatanna doesn't know what she's up against, she's not going to be going into the fight with forcefields up. She didn't when she was going to confront dr. light, or in any other comic I've read with her in it.

And if Nat can go into the battle amped up, SF can go into the battle with a forcefield.

anyone can be knocked out, it isn't impossible for her to lose...... if the Surfer combo does Hulk up his strength... and cosmic enhance his strength... he could knock out Binary

i'm just forced to go with experience at cosmic level fighting here

point taken... about the force field that is.... flinching can still be deadly against a herald

I feel bad that SF doesn't really debate that well, making him sound less smart than he is....some voters may vote only using the fact he isn't a great debater. I dunno.

no offense nat (i know my vote doesn't count but this debating thing is kinda fun!) but as has been said many times - she's fighting for EVERYTHING! absolutely she would use a forcefield - most especially because she KNOWS that all she needs is a second to take down almost anyone! her first thought would be - no matter who i fight, i gotta stay up long enough to cast this spell. she'd put up 10 force fields if she could! and to the rest of that argument - i've never seen SS charge into anyone at lightspeed before and try to rip off their heads off either. this fight is apparently NOT about what we have seen/might see in a 'real' comic book battle. (i'm a bit disappointed in that, actually) it is what we consider 'possible' with the characters. there's a big difference. does make for some lively debate though!

wish i could have gotten into the event. seems pretty cool. i like your amalgam. you should win your opening match. digi and gautam though are another matter. there amlgam's are very cool. and powerful. should be fun watching this thing unfold!

Hercules does have one of the biggest mouths in comicdom.... his only rivals would be among some of the more pompous villains

i tend to find thor at least as pompous - just nowhere near as funny. i like thor though. but herc has (almost always) been a great foil. damn, if someone would have chosen herc as part of an amalgam they'd never lose!!
