I'd just like to defend myself by saying I've smoked up a couple times and I'm fine. I'm not addicted and I'm not screwed up. I have a 90% average in school. I'm a kid who you'd never assume to be a party-animal but I am. Just because you like to drink and smoke up once in a while doesn't make you an idiot. I understand it's bad but I don't do it habitually. I'm just inputting my two cents on it. It's only bad if you're addicted.
This point has probably already been brought forward, and the topic is getting bludgeoned to death, but hey..
Cannabis is not physically addictive.
Nicotine is, alcohol is, even codine (painkiller additive) is. But Cannabis is not.
Dependancey is a different thing, yes you can become dependant on cannabis, but not addicted. I was smoking weed before I smoked ciggarretes, before that time I didnt smoke at all.
I see absolutely no reason for the government not to legalise cannabis. It would provide extra revenue via taxes, it would cut out drug dealers out of the equation, and most importantly it would stop the drug being demonised.

same here 😑
i started smoking because my friends said "oh you have to smoke a cigarette after you smoke weed...it kicks the thc in faster" which is bullshit and in fact it only takes seconds to feel the effects when smoking pot.
so i guess cigarettes were a 'gateway drug' to pot....not only that, but i got drunk way before ever touching a cigarette or pot. i got f***ed up and from that point on was willing to accept other similar mind-altering recreational substances...you know, drugs...oh wait i forgot...alcohol is different *cough*bulshit*cough.
im not saying this to be cute, ironic, smartass-like....its the gods honest truth. it went: alcohol--->pot--->cigarettes. so which is the true gateway? and am i a rare case? i doubt it. ill bet that most people who have smoked pot have gotten a buzz on with alcohol long before ever taking their first pull off a joint. i'd bet the farm.
anyone?
i would say that applies to almost 98% of people. It's the usual progression. i think I went at it the wrong way..
Weed -> Other "things" -> Cigarettes -> Booze
The other things in the middle there is one of the strongest reasons I have for the legalisation of cannabis. From personal experience I can happily tell you the gateway to harder drugs is dealers.
I went to my dealer to pick up some weed, he was out. So he offered me speed. Being 16 and stupid I decided why not. Its not something I regret, in the same end, its not something i'm proud of. In no way would I advocate its use, If anything I would strongly advise you avoid that area. Its a slippery slope down, and it's all the harder to get back up after it.
I happily have myself together now, got a degree, got a good job.. happy. I know how to control myself around drugs, and how to avoid them controlling me. Good experience, but bad way to get it! 😄

The THC count in todays hydroponic weed is supposed to be off the charts compared to natural stuff. People are taking a fairly innocuous drug and making it more potent and unhealthy.
yea i thought that was common fact.
I don't know its strange i SEE what the effects can do, I have EXPERIENCED what the effetcs can do, I have READ research about adverse effects, yet allot of people here seem to proclaim without flinching that your ignorant about drug use fo forming an opinion based upon a certain drug, weed, that is negative after all of that.
I am wondering, it would be interesting to see the people that are defending weed if they smoke even once in awile, or do any otehr sort of drug. It would make sense to think a high number of people that defend an activity would also be involved ina activity
What in the hell is wrong with you man?
Why can you not accept that you are not, nor have you been, saying anything that we don't already know? If people choose to use drugs, it really is absolutely none of your damn business. Stop assuming you're the only person who knows about drugs and their effects, because that seems to be a fantasy you enjoy entertaining all too much.

you cant OD on thc.
and with weed, moderation brings more rewards than better health.
in fact, anyone who is experienced knows that if you smoke too much weed you will begin to sober up. i've smoked myself straight many times.
the best high is when i havent smoke for weeks or months (years on occasion)
then it hits me like a wrecking ball 😮💨

If thinking that makes you sleep better at night, then go for it. 💃
