I wouldn't trust her interviews so much, somewhere in the past she said that something in the second book would give clue who the HBP is. So still can not figure what or how? I remember half of the web croud re-reading the second book to find clues and none found any... cause there were not

im going out for a long shot but...didnt snape use the sectumsempra spell in the second book or atleast in one of the others?

no, in the second book, he used a spell to vanish the snake that Draco conjured during the duel with harry. The scene when harry spoke parstlemouth. I don't remember the spell but i think finsihed with a word: "Ivanesku" something

actually from skimming through the new book hbp ...slughorn did get harrys book "the hbps book" from the store cupboard though im not sure that it was snapes store room
