Hmm games were bad down the road.
Perfect Dark, Conkers, Paper Mario, Majores Mask, Zelda, Goldeneye, blah blah blah.

You might not like some of the games but just because you like them, doesnt automatically mean that they are shit. ( I tend to do this sometimes). I think N64 had some amazing games, while the PS had some too. I dont think think its a disappointment because of this. Without Goldeneye, Zelda and Mario, where would they're genres be if they werent released?

And I have always said this, I dont care what peoples friends do because they dont represent the gamer public. Everybody has friends that traded a N64 for a ps, or the other way around.

You didn't like prefect dark or goldeneye?

I don't think games I don't like suck, I just think N64 was more of a disappointment of a system.

For instance there are games I like, but will never own, just because of convienence or the intent of the game (multiplayer, etc.)

I like having friends with different systems, I don't want everyone to have a playstation. (bad economy and less choices anyway)

I was raised on nintendo, but I don't like the way it has been going, like sega, who also had great games.

Im an idiot, I meant that those games were awesome.

But why was it a disappointment?

I dont think they are. They dont makethe same mistakes as Sega. They're systems are well thought out and do well, not to mention that they have the franchises that Sega didnt have.

I can't wait for the Revolution simply because I want to go "old school" and download some games from the previous consoles. They are going to charge us for them, though, and I started a thread about that and what we think is a good price. check it out. http://www.killermovies.com/forums/f66/t363750.html

Thats about the only reasons the console is around.

I'm not saying the games sucked, its just some of the decisions, while nintendo made legendary games at first (mario 64) time went by and they stopped making more of what the people wanted,

Keep in mind the growing amount of adults that play games now, and you can see why people lean towards other systems.

Yeah, its true.

But I think its stupid. I dont need violence, nudity and language to entertain myself.

Same with me, same with me.

Ignoring duke nukem on my sig... 😄

"I think its stupid. I dont need violence, nudity and language to entertain myself."

Yet all the fun things in life seems to contain them....give me a game without violence and bad language, and I asume it was built for kids.... 🙂

Don't get me wrong though tetris kicks ass..... But strip tetris RULZ

Maybe.

But I still think its pretty unmature to assume that violent games are always fun and that "kid" games are not.

Metriod is a good example of a game that is made for the general public that doesnt have violence ( yes I know you kill things, but thats not really violence)

strip tetris.

Hey, I'm the biggest kirby fan ever, but I don't like the newer ones.

You can play strip tetris on the net already.
Dont ask me where you can, Im not like that.

Kirby was pretty cool. It was a very easy game though, and pretty short.
The new DS Kirby game looks ****ing awesome though.

The old kirby, superstar, best game....

I'm not agreeing with you or disagreeing. I'm just saying I find a game thats not killing people or blowing stuff up to be the sims really, even then theres nothing like killing the neighbours in a fire....
Most games involve killing, check out any game shop and its hard to find a game, which played in real life wouldn't include putting your life on the line. Take driving games, anyone of the crashes I perform in that game would end me.....

Kids games can be fun. There just not that much of a challenge. (most not all)

I do understand, if a mature game is written PROPERLY, it usually is better.

but just like music, maturity doesn't equal sales...

I dont agree with that.

Zelda 64 is labelled as a kid game but its the best game of all time.

So all platforms, RPG's are like The Sims?
That doesnt make much sense.

I have a hard time playing Zelda over playing any FPS because i actually have to use my brain and not just reflexes.

like I said, zelda is one of a kind.

Best game of all time, based on the people who play it, of course.

But the majority of the people don't play it...

Problem is most mature games, rely on the maturity, and NOT the gameplay.

Would you rather watch a simple show, or a complex one?

Zelda was one of the most successful games out there.

Your saying it didnt sell well?
Back in N64 days, alot of people actually played that game.

Both. I love mature rated games, but not because of blood or violence, because some of them kick ass. My fav is Half-Life.

No no no, I'm not saying it didn't sell well, it was a game either you liked or no.

Nintendo's best games usually centered mario and zelda in the n64 days, with the notable acceptions like goldeneye or perfect dark

I'm saying mature games give way for more compex material.

I did however have a quaterback attack game rated M, and I couldn't figure out why, nothing that should have kept it from being and E rated game

Yeah complex material.

Shooting somebody in the face to proceed through a door is very complex to me.

E games makes you use your brain more than M games.

What I'm trying to imply is that with games that don't have mature stuff are designed mainly for kids.. and when designing for kids it can't be too puzzleing.... zeldas great for a time. after doing one, you have to admit that most are very similar in content, getting same items and boss'es are taken out the same way. Agreeded that games like halo and halflife are the same, just shooting the same things and running down a hall, but its the complexity of the surroundings that makes it interesting. If you ever try and play a shooter thats built for kids it suxs.. If you play a puzzle game for adults (like myst) it gets near impossible at the end....

Who said all M rated games were shooters.

Duke nukem had the most ingenious level design for its time, I just figured out how to beat some levels.
