Battle of the Next-Generation Consoles

Most are.
If not, they're takes on sometings with nudity and/or language.

Yeah. I dont doubt that M rated games are not complex, but most invovle shooting something to get past something.

Hit or Miss, you say every Zelda is the same.
How about HalfLife? I can play a Half Life game in my sleep. Same with another other franchise. They always follow the same pattern from previous versions.

Half life is one of the greatest, but is overrated nonetheless, people act like you can't get bored playing the game.

I don't buy too many shooters unless they have something innovative.

Timesplitters: custom
REd Faction: geo mod
Half Life: interaction
Duke: fun, level design, and humor.

Red Faction?
The GeoMod was cool for a bit, but it was never really used to its advantage. On the other hand, the shooting aspect was very crappy compared to games like Half Life and others.

Half Life is not overated. Yes, people get bored, but to me it doesnt. Its that good.

Most shooters offer little to challenge a person who will play halo, halflife and unreal tourney... Games like doom 3 thou... That game was scary... I keep checking each room waiting to be jumped!

Games that truely give something new to the mix;
Half-life
Doom
The list goes on but I don't have the time..

Games which follow the same old; (I let you decide)
There the ones which people go..."all you do is walk and shoot..... walk and shoot....Whats soo good about that..."

Its overrated as its perfect, its fun.

even the best things are overrated, like the new gas prices. 😄

Of all the benefits the PS3 has.... You pick the one all of them have....

Go look at a xbox 360... WOW WIRELESS CONTROLLERS!!!!

And the Rev.... I'm not seeing controll ports on that either! (I could be wrong though)

Lol ps3 fanboys at there worst! they can't even be bothered to look at the other consoles before they start ranting how great ps3's are....

Yea, Revolution will have wireless.

have they shown the rev controllers yet???

Please xbox and nintendo fanboys are just as bad or worse, they hate ps2 just because it sells more.

I choose what I like to play...

Hey If they came round I would bust there chops too! but look at that post.... the only point was that ps3 has wireless controls... didn't even realise that the others have wireless controls as well....

I'm not sure if its even a good thing... I don't wana be in the middle of a game and the batteries go dead....

I know, I was just saying, you know how I feel about fanboys.

Check out the Nintendo Revolution. Its sick!!!

I have to get on of these. Read the articles before you judge. Its such a good idea

I don't like that controller, it doesn't have the structure needed for the games I play, which require millisecond timing.

What do you mean by that?

From what I just saw the remote (controller) would be hard to utilize for fighting games and possibly shooters IMO.

I of course play tournaments so I like the best controller possible, even the standard ps2 isn't to my liking, I have a special fighting controller.

The dpad being small hurts. Games like sf for instance use degree motions, circles, semicircles etc.

If you've ever tried that on a small dpad, its significantly harder.

On first party games its grand, but on third party, from the anatomy of the controller meh, not as much.

I really really really want it to work... but i hope they got a fal back plan if it don't work...

a guy i know got a controller that worked on the movement of your hand like the rev.... it sucked soo bad.. it was near impossible to configure.. I hope nintendo got it working really welll

Theres a variety of games that controller would be much better suited for than a standard controller. 1st person shooters is the top of the list. Anyone who has a PC and plays with a mouse keyboard combo would know why. Also real time strategy games and adventure games.

I cant wait to see how developers incorporate this interface into their games. Dont freak out and be like well how are we gonna be able to play so and so on that controller with so few buttons. The movement sensors of the controller make the previous amount of buttons found on controllers unnecessary. Plus theres the fact that there are add ons which will offer a classic controller interface anyway, so theres no problem. The developers will make their games work around the interface, the controllers form isnt going to inhibit users from playing certain types of games. If anything this interface is going to allow for a totally different experience to the one to be had with the PS3 and Xbox 360. Which both have more or less the same level of interaction that the PS1 offered 10 years ago. It seems to make for a much more interactive experience. Its just what this next generation called for. Playing graphically improved versions of the same games in the same way just really doesnt appeal to me.

I think it will work great with shooters due to the fact that its probably possible to actually aim the controller as you aim the gun. I dont know about you, but it works out with the technology that sounds ****ing fantastic way to play FPS.

It would destroy the conventional controller (which is shitty to play FPS).

Fighting games, I can see unless they have a way to controller the character movements.
But really, C, when you have ever seen Nintendo focus on fighting games for their systems. You should know that you never buy a Nintendo if you love fighting games. So basically, its a moot point if the controller doesnt work with fighting games.
