1) Champions league games are basically the best teams and who twins are the best team in Europe, right? yeah the teams go into the champions league if they win there own league or are in like 2nd,3rd and 4th in Britain but they have to then qualify
2) Whats the FA Cup? and is the UEFA Cup all about the lower tier teams? the F.A cup is a english cup that all teams take part in from non league to top teams. UEFA Cup is the few teams below those who qualify for the Champions League.
3) In the Premier League, what is the best team? The team that wins Champions League, UEFA Cup, FA Cup or the team with the best record in the end? the team who picks up the most points from 40ish games. (3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a lose)
4) Are Transfers basically a team buying a player from another team? Does the actually player get paid the transfer fee or do they sign contacts that is different than the transfer fee? the player does get a bit of the transfer fee but not all and also then get paid what the contract they sign says.
5) If a player's contract is up, does the player have free reign over what team they play for, or is team that has him have a choice of what team he plays for? this is called the Bosman rule basically a player can go to whatever team he wants if they make him an offer.

hope that helped.

I think that the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE should really be just a tournament with the CHAMPIONS of the top league of each european country. Otherwise it really isnt a champions league. I remember a few years ago, that 3 of the 4 semi-finalists were italian teams. It really cheapens the torunament. I remember one year, when Celtic had wone their league and were 12 points or so clear. Newcastle came 4th in the premiership in the same year, and were about 20 points behind the champions. But newcastle only won one qualifying game and got into the champions league. Celtic had already won 2 qualifying games and lost their third, so they were not able to get in. That was totally unfair. It's all just about politics, and IMO, the top european footballing countries have FAR too much political power

Its more understanable now. Thanks

Newbie here, an Arsenal and RMA fan. I love football, which may be rare in country crazy about basketball. Thanks for the Football 101. Been a fan since the 90s but couldn't sustain it because it's not popular here so there's hardly media coverage. (Though I've watched college football in our university) Finally there's coverage of Seria A, La Liga, EPL and Champs' League. Though that means waking up at 2 in the morning to watch the games live...

Yeah, in Canada, there now having some coverage on league games. One Channel has Premier League games on sat morning but thats basically Man U and Arsenal games.
There's also coverage on major games land tournaments ike the Champions League and World Cup Qualofiers but thats basically England games.
World Cup and EURO Cup gets the full coverage with every game, but sometimes its not live. Buts its usually just one channel, so you have to expect that.

ahh unlucky there games on here everyweekend when the leagues are going english, spanish, italian and international we blessed here 😛

ESPN (La Liga) and STAR Asia (EPL) are doing a relatively good job in coverage, actually. Sportsplus (Serie A) At least there are three cable stations airing football. They are picky with the World Cup qualifiers and friendlies though. It's good the Asian qualifying has coverage, but apart from that it's England matches that have coverage. Oh and would you believe. I've tried low and high end magazine shops I come across here (even tried airport shops whenever I travel) and no one carries football magazines. What's up with that? Now my friends and I are thinking of going to Hongkong or Bangkok for viewing parties of Champs'/EPL league finals.

We have like 30 soccer mag's in Ottawa.
We just see English games but I dont really mind that because well I'm a supporter of England and supporter of Man U (sole reason because I get to watch them).

If England score early and/or Rooney dosen't go ape then I'd agree with your confidence. But the longer it stays at 0-0 the more the frustration sets in, the more the Northerners grow in confidence, the more Rooney'll lose his bottle! And then...fireworks!!! 😄

should be an easy game if England play to they're potential but N. Ireland annoy people because they are very strong.

still think England will win though they're class will show about 2 - 0 i think.

i reckon 3-0
