yeah but footy clubs in a country that are not of top quality wouldnt have many forigners playing for them because the standards are low which means many foreigners woudnt be attracted to that club..for e.g irish league...i wud imagine that 95 percent are irish
in top leagues such as the premiership, seria A, la liga.. the top teams buy the best players, and to do so, have to look in other countrys

In the context of Baracustatic's position, i understand why some are averse to the idea of using technology in football. True, technology would have settled many debatable calls and changed the course of the leagues (most recently, Chelsea would have been in the Champs League finals, Man Utd would have lost that match against the Spurs, etc.) but fans nd players would lose the drama that is so much a part of the game. Technology can enhance officiating, but not supplant it. Tough how to balance that though.

funny how the international teams of the "big 3" leagues have been a bit pants for a while.

Funny how countries where the native league are supposedly pants produce successful national teams.

Czechs, Portuguese, Greek, Irish, French, Dutch, Korea, Brazil, Argies etc.

Anyway, Aberdeen is the exception rather than the rule in Scotland. Rangers have 3 Scots at most in 1st 11, Celtic have 2, the rest have maybe 6 at the most.

Scottish football is messed up because of other teams trying to chase the OF. Aberdeen chased the hardest so fell the furthest. That is why we have turned to the youth system, because we're skint. The sooner the other teams in the league follow suit, the better the league will be.

The reason the Scottish national team is so mince at the moment is because teams spent money on bringing in foreigners rather than on their youth system.

The exact opposite is true of the Dutch, French, Czechs, Brazillians etc.

Dean..........how on earth did Kenny bloody Miller score 1 goal, let alone 20-odd, for Wolves. He is utter, utter, complete, total, unadulterated garbage!

At least it was a clean sheet, but with 10 behind the ball against lowly Belarus you'd bloody well hope they wouldn't score!

Nevermind.

All we have to do now is win at least 3 of the remaining 4 games..........

Italy, Belarus at home
Norway, Slovenia away

I am to seclusion in a dark room until the start of next season where the glorious Dons will sweep all before them........

when i see miller play..he is really good honestly...some people just cant cut international level..he is a very good championship player

international and championship levels are two different things. some players make the adjustment, but not many. were'nt scotland without 9-10 of their first team players? maybe that had something to do with the squad selection and tactics.

There were 4, yes 4, strikers on the bench.

McFadden - leading goalscorer of current squad
Riordan - top scoring Scot in SPL this season
Thompson - scorer of 1 of only 3 goals so far this campaign
Lee Miller - on top form, 11 goals in half a season for hearts.

So Smith picks the striker who hasn't scored for Scotland for 2 years! And only with 14 minutes left did he bother to bring on McFadden. Even then we still had only 1 up front cos Kenny "elephant feet" Miller got banished to the left side of Midfield.
