they didnt qualify thoughdidnt come in the top 4 in the Prem.
IMO they shouldn't have been allowed to defend it.
i mean if Brazil dont qualify for the world cup can they just go in because they won it.
They should be in the UEFA cup.
doesnt matter...the premiership is not the champions league
they are the champions....how can u watch the champions league when the champions are not in it? they won the trophy..that is more than good enough
its is the champions league
so the champions of each league go trough with the best other 2/3 teams the rules have always been in the prem that the top 2 go into the CL and the 3rd and 4th place teams go into the qualifiers for the CL
Liverpool didnt do this the winners never go into the CL its in the rules
it would be stupid not to have let liverpool at least try and defend their title. the champions league isn't really a champions league, i mean how can four teams of one league all be champions? why dont they just have all the teams who won a trophy, or a league, get em into a pot and have a massive knock out campaign. win or lose. therefore, you always get the teams who win things.
if they did shrink the number of teams in the champions league, then fitures would ease up a tad. this would hopefully stop the top managers from whinging(tho i doubt it). at least we know we're getting a bonafide champion. in my opinion, liverpool shouldnt have even been it it last year, and neither should chelsea or man u. arsenal won the league, therefore thats it. possibly the fa cup winners? maybe even the league cup. thats three teams who've won a trophy, who are champions of something or another. let these teams battle it out, not the top finishers in the league. if a team finishes third all they should get is a bit more money and a pat on the back.
This year yes not last year.
Man Utd beat Millwall 3 - 0 last year
i know what ur saying and it kinda makes sense but the rules have been that way since the start of the CL and if they were to change it know then it would devalue the league.
and then how are u going to decide who goes into the UEFA cup?.
